Reconsidering the shorthand for month in search
From the search help:
You can use m for minute, h for hour, d for day, w for week, mo for month, and y for year.
It seems likely that users would want to use months more often than minutes in a search. Would it be more useful for "m" to mean month, and for minute to be the one with an awkward 2 character representation?
Currently, this may put some users off by confusing them.
Example
A hypothetical casual search user, based on the in-page example created:<1w (without reading the search help), types created:<1m and expects to see the posts from the last month. Instead there are 0 results, because nothing has been posted in the last minute. This is a particular problem because the user has no way of knowing that there was a misunderstanding, so no reason to consult the search help. Instead the search appears broken, and the user stops using it.
