Adopt a notifications model supporting toggleable previews
One way I think Codidact could have a big leg up on Stack Exchange would be a more robust notifications system, borrowing from the pre-established template of some other software.
For example, on iOS, there are a few minimal yet beneficial ways to customize how you receive notifications, from all your apps. You can turn them completely off. You can turn on only some kinds. You can mute or block certain people. You can choose to have notifications show previews of their content, or not (for example, “James Santana commented on your post”, vs. “James Santana commented on your post: That’s a terrible idea, you’re very st…”.
Ideally, all we would have to do is use a pre-existing software library to enable that kind of notification system, the settings for which could be accessible in a sub-menu for the site settings overall.
