Mouse cursor shows a hand when outside a button

The "Sign Up" and "Sign In" buttons at the top right of the page (when not signed in) have a different mouse cursor when hovered over. The mouse cursor changes to a pointing hand and the style of the button changes to reflect that it is being hovered over. This is intentional and not a problem.

However, when hovering over the area around the button, the mouse cursor also changes to a pointing hand, even though the button cannot be clicked on from this area. This gives the impression that clicking will work, but nothing happens.
