Clickable links in edit comments
When editing a post, an edit comment can be included that describes the changes that were made. Where the reason for an edit is not obvious, this comment can include an explanation.
I recently noticed the use of links in edit comments, allowing a discussion to be referenced that gives more context than could easily be summarised in an edit comment:
I found this very useful for understanding the edit history, but the link is displayed as plain text so I had to highlight and copy the link text in order to access the explanatory discussion. I would find it useful to have links in edit comments be clickable.
Ideally these would be standard hyperlinks, so that they work for users who have JavaScript disabled, and work with standard browser functionality (left click to open in the same tab, middle click to open in a new background tab).

In addition to bare URLs being clickable, I would also find it useful to have human readable links in edit comments.
For example:
- Markdown links:
[link text](https://example.com "hover text")
gives link text - HTML anchor tag links:
<a href="https://example.com" title="hover text">link text</a>
gives link text
Just having clickable bare URLs would be a significant improvement already. I mention human readable links as a potential further improvement. This would allow a concise edit comment that can be read as a self-contained explanation even without clicking the link(s), while leaving open the option of clicking for more detail.
