adding notifications, across multiple communities

(I'm new and finding my way around. This is mixture of bug report, feature request and perhaps also request for documentation - let me know if you prefer them split?)

Since it's quiet, I was adding notifications for the communities that might suit me. I don't yet know what they will do but I'm happy to find out in due course.

manage subs

I found "Manage Email Subscriptions" under me/prefs but it took more searching than I expected. I would have been less surprised if they had their own tab / I couldn't guess why they don't but I'm sure there's a reason.

I haven't found a way to manage them across all communities. While I'm adding "tell me about new stuff Every day" then being able to (un)tick a column of checkboxes would be so much quicker, easier and perhaps likely to promote interaction.

dup sub

Having not found a way to do that, and being inconsistent in my visits to each community, I've managed to add two apparently identical ones. my prefs, notifications, duplicate

I will wait until it fires, to see what happens.

maybe I want RSS instead?

It's possible that notifications on any fixed schedule (daily to quarterly) are not the best times for me to hear about new stuff. If someone posts a question and I'm open for interruptions, why wait until tomorrow to tell me?

RSS could be better... I used to have a reader, it may be time to find a new one.

However the filters look useful and I don't see way to apply them to the RSS feeds?
