Tag wiki edit history is needed

From what I understood from Renaming a tag rewrites history, implementing a tag wiki edit history is/was complicated. Just in case there have been improvements to the code base since that previous meta post from 4 years ago, I'd like to propose this again.

If we are to have tag wikis in the first place, I think this will become necessary - we will want to see which user that made which changes at what date. Ideally also with the possibility to add an edit comment summarizing what was changed and why.

We'll want to avoid arbitrary changes by users lacking sufficient domain knowledge and even if wiki edits require moderator approval, the moderator doesn't necessarily have the needed domain knowledge. It will be particularly unlikely on sites with a very broad scope.

A system with an edit log becomes self-curated, as we can see from Someplace Else. A few domain expert users will occasionally peek at the tag wiki and if some bad changes are spotted, we can then do a rollback and/or bring it up to meta discussion. I've been involved in that a few times at SE where we prevented harmful tag wiki changes of important tags. Their system with edit history works.
