A: Taking our design to the next level: feedback wanted Loving the discussion. As the main person responsible for the design I wanted to share my thinking to help inform some further discussions. The biggest thing for this redesign was to focus on the few things that are really important to those of us who started and are maintaining Codidact and also ... (more) |

Footer is omitted on purpose - its not pertinent to the post list.
Re title size - i think there needs to be a balance here, but the reality is that adding more posts into a 1000 pixel high browser isnt necessarily a good thing.
RE banner - this empty space is available for sites to customize t... (more) |

The challenge with this is that it adds a lot of height to each post which decreases the number of posts on a page which is not necessarily a bad thing - but there does need to be a balance.
This might be more of an issue around weighting and value of items on the psot page. For eg "How important ... (more) |

Reflow can be avoided pretty easily here. There are some great examples of hover size changes (Apple is one that comes to mind immediately) (more) |

@canina this might actually be a browser rendering issue. the site name and codidact.com are supposed to be the same size, with the site name bolder. (more) |

A: "Copy link" does not work in Safari 12.1 I'm testing on Safari Version 14.0 (15610.1.28.1.9, 15610) This no longer seems to be an issue. I believe this is a browser version we don't support (I could be wrong though) https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/389 for reference. We can probably close this. (more) |

I'm going to look into this this week hopefully. I can't categorically say without a proper look, but this looks more like oversight tbh rather than intention (more) |

A: What's the standard way to refer to a Codidact community? I'm not sure if we have a 'canonical' way of doing this, so i'm going to answer with my own opinion. Assuming it's a community that is hosted by us, I think the safest way of doing this is to refer to the subdomain and domain. so `cooking.codidact.com` will always be unique and distinct and als... A: Can I use @Username to notify users from within my question or answer? I totally agree that this is a feature i'd prefer to be left out. It is to hard to implement in a way that doesn't get abused. The need for @mentions is rendered essentially moot through the proper implementation of notifications that can be customised by the end user. IE - I want notifications... (more) |

A: "Tour" for new users? Just to add to this, we also have the availability of contextual help in the right hand sidebar. This will show help depending on what page you are on and what element you are interacting with. It is currently in design phase but the aim is to provide a more useful context to help as and when you ... (more) |

A: How should we approach a programming site or sites? Coming at this from a totally different perspective here. I think all of the above mention many great points but I can't help but feel that we will find more success in the community by offering something totally different than SO. It needs to be broad enough that we can gather a large community w... (more) |
