Question What's the limit on the length of a post?
Is there a limit on the length of a post (either question, answer, article, etc) on Codidact sites? The current UI only shows this limit for comments, but not for posts - this is not a feature request to add something similar to posts, I just want to know what the limit is, if there are different ...

Question Comment threads remain active even if all comments are deleted
Issue raised on GitHub In this answer there's a "General comments" thread, but all the comments are deleted. This is related to - but IMO not the same as - this other post, in which it's discussed if showing that some comments are deleted is useful or not. That discussion is focused on the ...

Comment Post #282347 If later comments react to a deleted one, it'll be confusing anyway, and knowing that something was deleted won't help in making things clearer - *at most* it'll give a hint ("*ok, this out-of-context comment might be replying to a deleted one*") which is a small benefit IMO. It would be helpful if I...

Answer A: Allowing a user to choose which kind of comment to use --- simple or threaded
As far as I'm concerned, one of the main points (if not the main point) of having threaded comments is to keep things more organized, separating different discussions in their own threads. > I actually needed to write a few single-line small comments I understand that you thought your comments ...

Comment Post #282366 @elgonzo Considering the formula [described in Help Center](/help/scoring), and the fact that we don't know the `z` value for this specific site, there are 2 possibilities: 1- `z` has a value that makes those answers have the same Wilson Score (and, according to [this](/posts/277855), their order is ...

Comment Post #282366 I guess it's because of [the way scores are calculated](https://meta.codidact.com/help/scoring), and - probably - also because of [this](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/277855)

Answer A: Threaded comments are here!
Should regular users know that there are deleted comments? In this question there's one comment thread, and it says that there are 10 comments: 10 comments I expanded it, and it says in the bottom: "Showing 5 of 10 comments": Showing 5 of 10 comments If I click on "See the whole thread...

Comment Post #281554 On smaller communities, it might be feasible to rely on community members to help every single new user to fix their questions, but as the site grows, it becomes utterly impossible to give personal assistance to all. Making the system do the heavy work, and prevent the problem before it happens (at l...

Comment Post #281554 Regarding "_New users don't know how things work_", I think that the system itself could provide ways of guiding those users. Example: the Ask Question page could be like a "wizard" that instructs the OP to check that the question conforms to whatever the site considers on-topic ("Have you checked th...

Comment Post #278890 Is there any conclusion on this? If I ask about the meaning of a song/lyrics, will it be on topic? Is it worth to open a specific discussion about it in music.meta? (BTW, I'd be **very** interested in asking such questions, I also feel that there's no reliable places on the internet for this kind of...

Comment Post #277318 What happens when there's more than one heading with the same id? Nothing prevents that from happening (either by a typo, or 2 different answers accidentally using the same id). I know this is probably a rare corner case, but if the site's Markdown automatically creates the id's, this could be avoide...

Question Make the editor's textarea bigger (full screen?) and with a side-by-side preview
Can we improve the editor? Currently, the textarea is, IMO, too small (even a short post like this one requires some scrolling when editing). For larger posts (like this one) it's even worse. When writing/editing, I tend to go up and down the text, read and re-read a couple of times to make sur...
