Hope it's ok to ask this as a comment here: It currently shows one unread notification for me, and no matter how or where I click it, the "1 unread" bubbles does not disappear. Is the notification system currently being worked on? If not, I'd ask a new question for this...

It's true that much of the functionality that is handled via queues on SE can be "emulated" with search/filter. This might become more difficult with more content or more different types of possible actions. In that sense, queues could be seen as a way to selectively "push" things to the curators, wh... (Not sure if this is is worth an own Q/A:) : I'm currently receiving a popup message: "Failed: You have used your daily vote limit: 0/0 (403)" when trying to vote on site proposals. Is this only a glitch? (I could upvote other Q/As a few days ago... in doubt, I'd try again later...)
