I think a question that is related explicitly to the roleplaying side of a computer roleplaying game - promoting and encouraging interaction and creating fiction among the players - would be borderline on topic. Obviously questions about designing live action roleplaying game, tabletop roleplaying ga... (more) |

A: I cannot understand the meaning of disrespectful. Generally speaking, if I find a community where I clash against the norms and maybe even cause damage, my approach is to read documentation and lurk on the site, participating only carefully and in ways that do not cause clashes. I might also ask for help to understand the community, if there is some... (more) |

A: Voluntariness vs. Responsibility, which of them should be considered as a priority for the community team? If you wish the staff to start acting like paid employees, maybe you should discuss how you can pay them. Maybe set up some kind of foundation that funds Codidact servers and pays the wages of a staff member or two. To remain consistent with the community-based approach of Codidact, the members, mayb... I have Privacy badger (Firefox, Linux) and have no problems voting as of now. I have noticed that the comment length limit is not always displayed, but I have not looked more into it. (more) |

Question | — |
What should I know when coming here from Stack Exchange? This website seems much like the Stack Exchange family of sites, but I immediately noticed some differences, like being able to comment at once and not being able to vote on this meta (but the ability to vote was elsewhere, though heavily limited). As a new member, what should I know at minimum to... (more) |

I think the following should also be on topic:
* Questions about the history of roleplaying or roleplaying games.
* Questions about terminology and jargon.
* Questions about rpg theory, hobbyist and academic. (more) |

One name option would simply be "roleplaying". I would personally avoid "storytelling", as it has a terrible amount of package; what about powergaming, rules lawyering, playing to win, etc? Those are all parts of roleplaying and playing roleplaying games. (more) |

I have played since about 2000 and a wide variety of games, including homebrewed games, obscure and popular indie games, various editions of D&D and other traditional games. I am also comfortable with rpg theory (academic and not). A little experience with larping and text-based forums games, too. I ... (more) |

If one restricted to D&D, what OSR games and retroclones, and what about Pathfinder (almost a retroclone of D&D 3 to begin with), and D20 star wars, 13th age, etc? The site will be dominated by D&D 5 anyways, almost certainly, so those of us who (also) enjoy other games have little enough space, no m... (more) |

If larps are not allowed, one has to draw ugly boundaries and decide what to do with jeepform, experimental Fastaval games and structured freeform. Also, what about text-based forum games, often coming more from fanfiction community than tabletop community, though there is obviously overlap? (more) |
