Remember me function not working when 2FA is enabled

+7
−0

When I have 2FA (two-factor authentification) activated, I'm kicked out of my session way more often than if I haven't. That's annoying, because I need to go to my password manager and find my password. Even worse, when I'm not at my PC, but at my mobile.

Reproduce?

  1. Activate 2FA (I tried only for the app-variant)
  2. Sign out and sign in again. Don't forget to check the "Remember me" checkbox.
  3. Wait a few days, close your browser window, ...
  4. Profit.

Is this only desktop, only mobile, or both?

@ArtOfCode both.

Interesting. I get this on mobile, but hadn't linked it to 2FA. What made you link it?

@ArtOfCode normally I'm logged in basically forever on desktop and mobile, but whenever I activate 2fa, I'm regularly logged out (and once I deactivated it, the old behavior returns).

To add an anecdotal data point: This morning I switched on 2FA and then logged in on mobile, ticking "remember me". A few hours later I had to log in on mobile again.

More detail: I've had to log in again on mobile several times today (Firefox on Android, not private browsing). I haven't had to log in again on desktop once though (Firefox on Fedora Linux).
