Suggestions for the user profile right pane
I have a few suggestions of how the pane on the right hand side of the user Profile page might be improved. I'd like your thoughts on which changes would be useful.
Wording changes
The 2 images below show:
- Left: the current appearance of the pane
- Right: the pane with some suggested wording changes (listed below the images)
The changes are:
- Top section:
- "Number of top-level posts" -> "Top-level posts"
- "Number of answers" -> "Answers"
- "Sum of received votes (up minus down)" -> "Received votes (up minus down)"
- "Number of edits made" -> "Edits made"
- "Posts" section:
- "Count" -> "Total"
- "Votes cast" section:
- "Count" -> "Total"
- "on Question" -> "on Questions"
- "on Answer" -> "on Answers"
- "on Article" -> "on Articles"
- "Flags raised" section:
- "Count" -> "Total"
To me personally, these changes make the pane simpler and easier to understand. I'd like other perspectives though. Are any of these changes for the worse for you, or do any of them reduce accessibility?
Links to relevant Codidact pages
I'd also be interested in seeing some of the phrases in the pane made into links to other pages. The next 2 images show:
- Left: the pane with the suggested new wording
- Right: the same new wording with some phrases made into links (the links are not clickable in the images, so working links are listed below the images so you can decide if the links go to the places you'd expect)
The new links are: (as working link followed by the destination URL for reference)
- Top section:
- Top-level posts (no link as I couldn't find a way to link to only non-answer posts)
-

Note that these all show results for the user whose profile is being viewed (mine in this case), rather than for the user who is viewing the profile. The user id in each link would be different when viewing different users' profiles.
All these links are already existing places on Codidact, with the exception of "Top-level posts" which I couldn't find a way to make a search term for. Currently, the search doesn't seem to support either multiple post_type terms or post_type preceded by a minus sign to exclude that type.
Since the "Answers" link would already be available in the "Posts" section, the top section could just have the link to "Received votes", leaving "Top-level posts" and "Answers" not linked.
Your thoughts
Would you find any of the wording changes and/or links useful, when viewing either your own or others' profiles?
