Edit activity show, but not allowed to approve

Now having a dot next to the "Edits" button to indicate pending edits brings up a new issue. It seems everyone is notified of all pending edits, whether they have the ability to approve them or not. Here is what I see when looking at the pending edits in Physics:

Users should only be notified of pending edits if there is something they can actually do about them.

Thanks for adding the notification dot, though. That's an improvement even with the above.

On a separate topic, shouldn't I have the ability to approve edits? I've written 35 posts in Physics, and have more than twice the rep of any other user there. Lighten up a bit.

Even if you can't approve them, you might still be interested in the content of the suggested edits. Why remove the ability to see them?

Shouldn't be so in your face if you can't do anything about it. (2 comments)

*"Why remove the ability to see them?" Because if I can't do anything about the edit, I don't care. As others have pointed out, if I really want to watch such edits, there are already ways to seek them out. However, the vast majority of the time, the reason for looking over pending edits is so that I can handle them.

If I've understood correctly, this answer isn't suggesting keeping the indicator circles for people without the Edit Posts ability, just keeping the ability to click on the Edits tab and see the suggested edits if desired.

(So it sounds like you both agree, just in different words.)
