Is it possible to accept an answer? How to accept an answer? [duplicate]

This question has been addressed elsewhere. See: Suggestion for allowing to mark answers as "accepted", "outdated" or "dangerous"

No, it is not possible to accept answers - I believe the reasoning behind it is that one person should not influence what rises to the top, as the majority's opinion is generally more useful.

As already mentioned it is not possible to accept an answer on Codidact, as opposed to what happens on the Stack Exchange network. Having accepted answers (+ pinning them) might lead to having a bad answer marked as accepted and Stack Overflow is currently spending a lot of time and effort to fix this (the effort is actually trying to also tackle the highly voted obsolete answers).

Letting the OP to mark the question as answered might lead to better results, but if we look from a long term perspective (the question and answers to be useful for future readers) there is really not much value added by marking a particular answer as accepted or marking the question as answered.

I am not sure if it applies to less technical communities, but for me most of the answers I find the best (accurate, up to date) on Stack Exchange are the non-accepted ones.
