Deleting a question that has answers that were deleted by System, transfers the answer deletion to the question deleter
This was definitely unexpected, and possibly a bug. A question was flagged over on Scientific Speculation that hadn't been acted on in any way on Codidcat and had no non-deleted answers (they were all deleted by System as part of the purge of imported but unclaimed and unimproved content); the answers were all deleted by System.
After I deleted the question, the answers now indicate that they were deleted by me.
Even though deleting the question makes any extant answers inaccessible to users without the Curate ability, so technically one might say that deleting the question also deletes the answers, I would have expected that the state of each answer to be unchanged in this scenario. In this case, they should have remained deleted by System, and the question should have been deleted by me.
I propose that answer deletion state should appear unchanged when the question that the answers are attached to is deleted or undeleted.
