Reputation change indicator on dashboard

The dashboard button in the site header

On the dashboard there are indicators for each Category of each community, that appear when there is new activity in that Category:

Would it be helpful to also show the reputation for each community on the dashboard, with a similar indicator on each reputation if it has changed?

I know that people have different opinions about reputation, so some people might want it to be more or less visible.

Could this be a network preference? So each user can choose whether the dashboard shows reputation at all, and also choose whether the reputation has a change indicator.
