Adding a dummy tag to improve the process of nuking tags with the "merge trick".
Would it be acceptable to create a dummy tag like merge-into-this-for-nuking-another-tag
just to ease the usage of the "merge trick" described here to nuke a tag?
Of course the usage would spell it out loudly to not to use the tag for tagging a question, and would explain the merge trick.
This would reduce the risk of messing things up when merging tags that need to be deleted, without burdening admins to use their power to delete tags upon request.
I ask this because I'm in the process of (slowly) revamping the tag structure over at EE.CD, and I would like to avoid bothering an admin every time I nuke a tag.
BTW, the creation of such a dummy tag would require an admin intervention, unless my feature-request
here is implemented.
On this same issue: would it be bad to post a dummy question to add such a tag and then delete the question straightaway? Would the dummy tag stick in this case?
