Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the meta-discussion site for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

How do I request Codidact to adjust for disabilities, under the Equality Act 2010?

The reasonable adjustment duty on service providers and public authorities (unlike that on employers) is “anticipatory”. Service providers etc need to consider in advance what people with different kinds of disabilities might require.

How do I request disability adjustments, under Equality Act 2010, section 29 ?

(7) A duty to make reasonable adjustments applies to—

(a) a service-provider (and see also section 55(7));

(b) a person who exercises a public function that is not the provision of a service to the public or a section of the public.

Are you asking about the software platform or operational policies?

On accessibility in general:

We want our platform to be accessible to as many people as is practical, and we do attempt to address the issues we anticipate (such as the work we've done with image alt text). We aren't experts in all aspects of accessibility and disability, so if we've missed something we can address, we'd like to know about it. Obviously you don't know what you don't know, but I think we've been pretty thorough in anticipating needs -- but there is always more to learn.

From our accessibility statement:

I'm encountering an accessibility problem, what do I do?

Please report any accessibility problems you have on Codidact Meta, using the [bug] and [accessibility] tags. That makes sure that we're aware of the problem, and we'll do our best to fix it as soon as reasonably possible with our available resources.

If you're not comfortable reporting an issue publicly, see Contact Us for other options.

We also have an extensive accessibility guide for user-contributed content (thanks Mithical!). If there are additional topics we could address there, please let us know.

On this specific statute:

As to your specific question about Equality Act 2010, section 29, the language there is about harassment, victimization, and discrimination. This seems to be about behavior more than the software platform. Please report any specific issues through Contact Us.
