Answer A: Should there be a forum-like place for the Codidact network?
Nowadays, - Codidact has a Discord server. - Discord supports forum-like channels. - Codidact look that needs to increment the daily activity (more daily new questions and answers). - Stack Overflow / Stack Exchange, Reddit and other places have ongoing "strikes". - There are a "new breed" of...

Comment Post #288695 I was referring to "discussion", "feature-request", "bug" and "support" only (obligatory tags?).

Comment Post #288695 I have not analyzed the feature request situation yet, so I have no idea how many there are, etc., but I was wondering about having categories in Codidact Meta for each meta tag when they reach enough activity. After writing the above, I realized that having a category for a meta-tag might make t...

Question How is the lifecycle of discussions handled in Codidact Meta?
There are status tags for bugs and feature requests to declare that the lifecycle of a bug and a feature request was completed, but apparently, there isn't something equivalent for discussions. Discussions are usually used to propose something that might make sense when that discussion was started...

Question Disambiguate [vote] and [voting]
Meta has `vote` x 4 and `voting` x 11. None of them have tag usage guidance. I'm not familiar yet with how tag naming is handled here but it looks clear to me that both tags are too similar and only one or the other should exist. I know that because I'm new there might be something that I'm mi...

Comment Post #277548 Power Users was launched. I think that this question should be "merged" with https://meta.codidact.com/posts/278833, the site proposal that was marked as "launched" and points to Power Users.

Answer A: How should we approach our (non-developer) software community proposals?
Software is an insanely broad term. I.E. the approach to software could be done from several perspectives: - Research & Academic (state of the art) - Education - Education system - Educator (education program designer, professor, teacher, instructor, ...) - Educand (student, mentee, ...

Comment Post #280577 Software Development, Power Users and Linux communities have no clear audience separation. What should be the home for people doing end-user development / end-user programming? What should be the home for people's "citizen development" as it's defined by the Project Management Institute and or anothe...

Comment Post #277871 I also think that this answer requires more work, and might need to be updated considering that Power Users was launched and the current policies about overlapping topics.

Question How discussions work in Codidact?
Stack Overflow was created on the premise of having questions and answers without the chitchat and other common problems well-known in Internet discussion forums. The founders learned they still need a place where to have feedback from "community" and after several months they made a clone of the que...
