Comment Post #74998 While all of our communities will use the same policies, other instances might use different policies (therefore, don't *hardcode the policies or links*) and might even use different policies for different communities within an instance (therefore must be *per community*). (And I figured out my erro...

Comment Post #74998 (Arghh, something funny - tabbing to post button after writing a nice long comment and it got lost, so I'll try to write again...) The software needs to have the policies either stored in text files read at startup or in the database (and then hosted on "self") or have links stored in text files rea...

Comment Post #74991 Much better - more focused. Effectively "Pi/Arduino/etc." Which is a broad enough topic to draw in (hopefully) enough experts & enthusiasts, but small enough to not become overly broad. I might mention other aspects (e.g., besides AI, etc.): robotics; sensors; interfacing between computers and other ...

Question Links go to writing.codidact.com instead of "self"
The Terms of Service, Privacy Policy and Code of Conduct links on meta, outdoors and photo are all pointing to the pages on writing.codidact.com. They should always point to "self".

Comment Post #74996 "open source" gets a bit confusing here. As I understand it, the whole Arduino design is itself "open source", whereas in some other systems the hardware and/or software may be open source or may be proprietary or may be freely distributed but not "open source". A lot of variations. It sounds like "o...

Comment Post #74995 This sounds **much** more general. So the key I see is deciding whether this is "tiny systems" (Arduino, Pi, etc.)-centric (as the initial proposal seems to imply) or "any electronic projects" as this answer seems to indicate.

Answer A: Single Board Microcontroller/Computer Codidact Site (Arduinos, RPi, etc.)
This does sound like an interesting idea. But it seems that the common theme may be much more of a "tiny computer systems that can be used to build stuff" than "open source" per se. And it also doesn't quite cover the same as Electronics StackEchange. Electronics StackExchange overlaps with this ...

Answer A: Requests to improve the contests
When it comes to Q&A in general, I am very much against: > Disallow downvotes, upvotes are enough to determine winners, and downvotes can hurt people's feelings. as that turns the whole world into touchy-feely-everyone-is-wonderful, which, unfortunately, is not the case, and basically to me see...

Comment Post #39454 IIRC, the original design of what is now the Meta logo included some smaller versions for favicon and similar purposes. However, since writing.codidact.com also does not have a favicon, there may be an issue with the qpixel software. OTOH, it may be possible for @ArtOfCode to simply put a favicon fil...

Answer A: How does Codidact avoid repeating Stack Exchange's mistakes?
One of the key differences is that by being community-driven, Codidact will be able to expand the system in different ways from SE. This includes the ability to host different types of content where SE, for whatever reasons, never did. Current plans, but subject to change, include blogs, canonical an...

Answer A: Bootstrapping: who can speak for a community?
SE moderators as automatic "pro-tem" moderators. Absolutely. While the specifics will be different, particularly the available tools, the principles of moderation will be largely the same here as on SE. High-rep Users When there are no (or not enough) SE moderators willing to be moderators...
