Answer A: Should we start displaying the score of a post instead of the raw votes?
instead of - Absolutely not! Showing separate + and - votes is a good thing. Or as they say, that's not a bug, it's a feature. If you want to show the score (whether integer net score or Wilson # or whatever) in addition to the + and - values, that's fine with me. But the + and - values are the...

Answer A: Languages 'supersite'
Separating Languages As noted elsewhere, one possible setup for the site is to have a main Q&A for "everything" and as individual languages build up they can progress to: Category - named for the language, standard Q&A, all existing questions moved based on tags. Separate Community - named f...

Comment Post #276665 *Can someone please explain the reasoning behind "In the first election, the three members with the lowest vote scores shall be elected for one-year terms only." (Article 1). Why doesn't this simply apply for everyone in the first election?* That is so the terms are staggered, the lowest 3 get a new ...

Comment Post #276534 I'm also in Firefox and it definitely was broken and yet now it seems to work - slight "blink" on click of "more comments" and then the links reappear. @ArtOfCode - Have you been busy fixing things again?

Comment Post #276581 The changes are just cat**a**gory/ies to cat**e**gory/ies. However, the issue of the diff page not working properly is a real one that I have noticed myself.

Comment Post #276579 as well. If a group of people want to spin up their own site, either to host a "private" group or in order to have policies that differ from ours, they can still come here to post bug reports or feature requests, and then update their own instance from the master instance on Github when changes are i...

Comment Post #276579 It is more than just "an account on another site". Some existing users, and I expect *many* future users, will be relatively non-technical types. They may be experts on photography or cooking but not programmers/developers. As such, posting to Meta will be easy (same as the communities they are using...

Answer A: Can we have an error if the to be uploaded image is too large?
I have proposed a number of possible solutions. At the moment though, they are grand ideas awaiting both consensus on what to implement and then programmer(s) to actually implement them. Due to other demands on developer time (both mine & others, and both inside Codidact and in the real world), it ma...

Answer A: How is Codidact financed?
Currently, the expenses of Codidact (primarily web hosting) are paid for directly by volunteer contributors or their employers. No corporate sponsored hosting has any advertising or other strings attached, and everything will be handed over to the Codidact organization when properly set up. We als...

Question Sefaria Linker bug
If I go to: https://judaism.codidact.com/questions/276449#comment-1676 the Sefaria links work fine. However, if I click on "Show 3 more comments" below the Question, the Sefaria links all disappear.

Answer A: automatic linking to a specific category, by title
I like this idea (obviously, clearly it is partly inspired by my post https://judaism.codidact.com/questions/276421 ). A bit of confusion though about "category", "post", etc. A category is a group of posts (e.g,., Q&A or Meta or Recipes or Divrei Torah). I think as initially stated this would be lim...

Comment Post #276414 Not to complain, but....it would really be nice if either this was a true **filter** (i.e., only shows "Native" when you click that button, rather than simply sorting) or if there were some indication (tag-like "native" or "imported" or some symbol?) so that when I scroll down through the "Native" li...

Answer A: "Tour" for new users?
In my opinion, the Tour on SE/SO left a lot to be desired. It provided an extremely brief overview of some features while leaving out a lot of important functional details. I am not sure if a Tour is planned for Codidact. I know that a lot of effort is being put into help pages, and in fact there ...

Answer A: Self-answered Q&A - posting Q and A at the same time
That's perfectly fine, at least as I understand it. However, one thing we have been working on here is a "post-only" item with no actual answers, which can include "Canonical questions" or "FAQs" or other types of posts where instead trying to fit an item into "Q + A", instead it is structured as a s...

Comment Post #276264 *You can't just tell people that the site doesn't work with the browser that came with their computer.* Well, you **can**. It just isn't recommended for a general-public site. I have done that for customer-specific (e.g., internal systems, even if accessed over the public internet) stuff.

Comment Post #276264 Worth testing (if I get a chance, I'll test it myself, like I did with the image problem) in multiple browsers. I have found each browser handles different things faster - I have one customer where their major application *mostly* works fastest, by far, in Chrome, but one piece works fastest, by far,...

Comment Post #276264 I know this sounds like a geek-hates-Microsoft answer, but seriously: **Can you try the exact same thing in Chrome or Firefox?** We have had some other reports of other issues, and that is my standard answer (I do this for a living, really) when my customers tell me something doesn't work in IE or Ed...

Comment Post #276140 I once worked on a project where another vendor supplied what was supposed to be a black box - interface purely via modem via API - but there were times I dealt directly with it (sort of...). Comment Post #275809 There likely **will** be migration between communities at some later time. However, that is one of the less critical features, at least until we have a lot of communities! Yes, different engineering domains could be categories within a general engineering site, but that might be a bit too much in one...

Comment Post #75020 For those not familiar with the situation that prompted this question, the user in question has not, AFAIK, actually registered their user on writing.codidact.com. Rather, there is a presumed user whose content was bulk imported (along with lots of other content) from SE. Said user has complained on ...
