On clicking "edit", the initial comment character count is incorrectly displayed as "0 / 255"

+3
−0

When clicking "edit" for a comment, the character count is initially shown as "0 / 255", with apparent disregard for the length of the comment.

Making a change, the actual character count is updated correctly and the maximum character count is changed to reflect the 1000 characters maximum for a comment.

deleted user Doesn't seem to be fixed yet, even though 2021-08-26 (as currently indicated in the page footer) is much later than 2021-08-20 (when you started this comment thread). Yes, it now shows "0 / 1000" instead of "0 / 255" immediately after clicking "edit", but the character count of 0 is still just as wrong.

Hum. Actually, your current problem is little bit related to this one https://meta.codidact.com/posts/283228

the character count is initially shown as "0 / 255", with apparent disregard for the length of the comment.

Oops! I didn't read it

So, it's partially completed...

Anyway, found another way to solve it... But, this way I can't show red color when it reaches it's limit. But, if you click on any button than, it will change...
