Looks like a hotel from the Monopoly game. Degrees of user trust go from no houses to 4 houses and then hotel for admins? Lundin‭ 8 months ago

@Lundin And if they get suspended, that is equivalent to mortgaging your property. Do not pass go. Do not collect 200 imaginary internet points. manassehkatz‭ 8 months ago

But seriously: How about if we substitute a nice Font Awesome symbol instead? Checking this: https://fontawesome.com/icons?d=gallery&q=admin I think maybe user-shied manassehkatz‭ 8 months ago

Obviously, we can't tell.

I'm just saying: It's a pentagram, so it'll likely involve dark forces. And a pact with the devil. And certainly some kind of blood magic that's neccessary to keep this site running. To be fair, it might also include a mention of dragons watching the Codidactyl to prevent it from escaping again (there was a nasty incidence last week).

Just kidding, of course. It's a mark for administrators. There is also a title on hover saying "Administrator". :P There is also an unfilled variant (as Monica Cellio mentioned), which indicates moderator privileges.

(On request from msh210) Administrator status is a user role in Codidact, which allows editing all kind of configuration values (site settings, categories, ...).

Thanks. This answer could be improved by editing in (or linking to) info on what "administrator" means. msh210‭ 8 months ago

@msh210 okay, will do later today. luap42 😷‭ 8 months ago

And the unfilled one is for moderators. Monica Cellio‭ 8 months ago

How does that icon symbolize administrator? Harel13‭ 8 months ago

@Harel13, because someone decided it does. It doesn't need to be mnemonic (though of course that would be ideal). msh210‭ 8 months ago

Administrator.

If you hover (or, if you're on mobile, however you display the span title attribute), it'll show a tooltip "Administrator".

(I tried to make a screenshot, but for whatever reason can't upload it, so you'll have to make do with a description in text.)
