Obviously, we can't tell.

I'm just saying: It's a pentagram, so it'll likely involve dark forces. And a pact with the devil. And certainly some kind of blood magic that's neccessary to keep this site running. To be fair, it might also include a mention of dragons watching the Codidactyl to prevent it from escaping again (there was a nasty incidence last week).

Just kidding, of course. It's a mark for administrators. There is also a title on hover saying "Administrator". :P There is also an unfilled variant (as Monica Cellio mentioned), which indicates moderator privileges.

(On request from msh210) Administrator status is a user role in Codidact, which allows editing all kind of configuration values (site settings, categories, ...).

Administrator.

If you hover (or, if you're on mobile, however you display the span title attribute), it'll show a tooltip "Administrator".
