Q&A

Welcome to Codidact Meta!

Codidact Meta is the meta-discussion site for the Codidact community network and the Codidact software. Whether you have bug reports or feature requests, support questions or rule discussions that touch the whole network – this is the site for you.

I would like basic killfile functionality.

I would like, when I am logged in, the ability to specify that I do not want to see posts, or posts and answers, from a list of users. It would be preferable if this defaulted to the community that I am currently in, but had the option to add others or a universal that included future communities.

They should not be able to know that I am ignoring them except by the fact that I am unusually good at ignoring them.

I suspect other people will want this feature, too.

I too would like this functionality. There are user(s) who have spent years and years being mean and rude and I long time ago I decided that I would be much better/happier off ignoring them. I ignore their questions and will not comment or upvote their posts, it's simply not worth it.

It would be nice if the software did this for me instead of having to do it manually. The other option is to just leave and go ask questions on a different platform.

I think I can see where this desire might be coming from.

However, I also think that what is proposed here is the wrong solution.

If a user is consistently being mean and rude over time, then they are clearly neither nice nor respectful.

Content that is in violation of the Code of Conduct should be reported to the moderators so that it can be dealt with properly, not hidden away by individual users and left for others (including casual visitors) to see.
