Thanks for your answer. My concern here is not why my meta post was closed. But, when I saw that my meta post had been closed as not constructive, I thought that the unwritten SE policy also exists here. If I had wanted to judge, I would have never asked my question here. By the way, I do not dislike... (more) |

Thanks for your answer. I was not (and am not) annoyed by downvotes; quite the contrary, I like to be downvoted and opposed. But, when I saw that my meta post had been closed as not *constructive*, I thought that the unwritten SE policy also exists here. I did not conflate the two. By the way, as you... (more) |

Question | — |
Does Codidact want to silence its users as SE does? After joining Codidact and then reading many posts, I concluded that Codidact is a place allowing people to express their opposing ideas freely, unlike SE. But, something happened that I had to doubt my conclusion: this post was closed as not constructive (?!). As we know, SE users cannot expre... (more) |

Thanks for your answer. I accept this answer. So, I conclude from your answer that even if there are enough participants for a community, the community team will not launch it in case it overlaps considerably an existing one, right? (more) |

@FoggyFinder The point is that such a community may be disliked by several active Meta users; one may find many interested people other than them. (more) |

@Lundin Your suggestion can be a good one. However, my question is general, not limited to a specific case. By the way, as I explained in this [site proposal](https://meta.codidact.com/q/277345), I cannot hope that we have an alive math community. (more) |

Question | — |
Launching a new community with enough contributors even though disagreements exist Suppose that I have suggested a community idea which has been heavily downvoted. Now, if I can gather enough people interested in contributing to the community regularly, then will this idea be planned to launch by the community team while it has many downvotes? (more) |

Thanks for your nice and comprehensive answer. If I had been able to accept your answer, I would certainly have done that. (more) |

In my opinion, if anyone report any bug even in poorly-described way, they should be encouraged because finding any bug can help the website to be more functional. By the way, some community developer asked me to add a screenshot of the bug, and I explained to them that I cannot upload any image (ano... (more) |

I posted that site proposal to see whether there exist enough people interested in such a community or not. After deleting my answer from the math community proposal, I did not challenge anyone about their idea. Those people disagreeing with my idea can easily ignore it. (more) |

Thanks for your answer. However, although I personally disagree with (or dislike) some proposals (even I disagree with launching any new communities at the present time), I have never downvoted any of them because if I disagree with them I can easily ignore such communities and I am not obliged to c... @Zerotime Thanks for your comment. However, I think the best choice in such situations is to skip proposals, right? (more) |

Question | — |
I cannot understand the meaning of some downvotes In my opinion, downvoting some kinds of posts is meaningless. For example, why should anyone downvote a bug report, like this post? If someone has the same problem, they can upvote the bug report; otherwise, they can skip it. Quite the contrary, I think bug report posts should be heavily upvoted ... (more) |

Question | — |
Please postpone launching new communities. I know that Codidact is a new website developed by volunteers, so I do not expect it to be as well-appointed as an experienced website like Stack Exchange. However, although I have joined Codidact for a short while, I see that this website lacks some favorite features and has some bugs. I admit th... (more) |

A: Mathematics & Physics Community Right now we don't have a good way of identifying people who would help build a new community, so let's do this: if you are interested in helping to build a math & physics site, please leave a comment describing your level of interest (casual visitor, enthusiast, expert in this subtopic within the si... Question | — |
"User Profile" should be more informative. I think the current information in a user profile is very limited . In my opinion, the following information should be added: Visible to all users - The number of questions and answers - The number of helpful flags, posts edited by the user, and people reached - Tags involved by the user'... @Sigma Thanks for your comment. Please see my previous comment. I have explained in the post why the relation between physics and mathematics is different from the other ones, so I think such restriction should not be considered as incredibly arbitrary. Please also note that Physics Overflow is dedic... (more) |

@OlinLathrop Thanks for your comment. I also agree with you that having separate sites is a better idea. However, as I said in the post, there would probably not enough regular contributors to keep each community alive; the math subjects are so diverse that many people would be needed for a math comm... Question | — |
Mathematics & Physics Community In my opinion, mathematics and physics are interconnected; I think almost all theoretical physicists are mathematicians and many mathematicians are interested in physics subjects. Since Codidact is an embryonic Q&A website, I suggest that one community is devoted to both mathematics and physics to... (more) |
