Answer A: Can we get a list of questions on a site currently nominated for the Community Promotions?
There is now a new section in the moderator tools for promoted posts. It looks like this: screenshot Moderators can cancel a promotion from this page. It would be better if the list of promoted posts were visible to all community members, not just moderators -- this would help communities c...

Answer A: Search box instead of link
We had a lot of discussion about how to approach this, keeping responsive design in mind, and decided to add the search icon but not move the search bar into the header. I admit that you don't know on hover, when it lights up, whether clicking it will navigate away or give you a pop-out; we have som...

Answer A: Shortcuts for individual categories don't seem to work
We've added a "preferences" tab to the user profile. There are global (network-wide) and per-community preferences. We've made keyboard shortcuts a global preference. We don't yet have "global, but with local overrides"; a preference is either global or has to be set on each individual community...

The cause of this bug has been found and fixed, going forward. Correcting the existing cases of this incorrect reporting wasn't practical, but it shouldn't happen again.

Answer A: How can we improve community proposals?
We've implemented one part of this (that seems to have consensus and no objections): the tags. I've updated the proposal guidelines, created the three "needs" tags, and retagged many proposals. (Sorry about the churn on the proposals list.) If we find in the course of using them that we need to tw...

Answer A: Should there be a community here for Linux users?
There's a lot of interest in this proposal. That's great! There are also questions about scope. We'd like to help this community succeed, and to do that we need everyone (or at least most folks) to agree on what it is you're building. Could somebody add a draft scope (doesn't need to be long bu...

Answer A: A newbie friendly and non-judgmental site focusing on Q&A related to Cloud technologies

Answer A: Can the title of the question be a "clean" link to the question itself?
Does the "copy link" link below the question meet your needs? screenshot Those of us who came from Somewhere Else are used to the title being a link, but we thought an explicit link would be more discoverable. This doesn't mean we couldn't also make the title a link; we just haven't yet.

Question New post type: wiki
We've had some discussions here on Meta about shared resource pages -- wiki-style articles that anybody could edit, canonical posts, and so on. Question How can we improve community proposals?
Now that we've seen several community proposals, some of which succeeded and some of which have run into hurdles, I want to look at how we're managing and tracking proposals. Answer A: Rollback Feature for Questions and Answers
I agree; "roll back to this version" has been useful on other platforms and I'd like us to have it. Answer A: Change not listed in question

Answer A: Most reputations dropped by 1 (maybe the "starter" 1 rep disappeared for people who had more)

Answer A: Vote counts broken by the update?
Found the problem! There'll be a post from ArtOfCode later with more information, but we believe we've now corrected the problem with some votes (cast during the upgrade window) not having been properly recorded everywhere. (They were, err, partially recorded, which made this hard to debug.)

Answer A: Add a more obvious link to the Abilities page
Making the "Earned Abilities" heading on the profile page link to the full list (/abilities) seems like a good way to solve this. It avoids adding one more tab on the profile (which is already constrained on small viewports like phones) while putting the link on the relevant part of the page.

Question Most reputations dropped by 1 (maybe the "starter" 1 rep disappeared for people who had more)
The recent database update included a reputation recalculation. Reputation doesn't mean as much as it used to (it doesn't govern abilities any more), but it's still present and visible. In the recalc, almost everybody's reputation dropped by 1. I think what probably happened is that the "starter...

Answer A: What is the 'lottery' button for?
"Lottery" is a random set of 50 questions. It's a way to be reminded of older posts that have dropped off the front page. I agree with the suggestion that "Random" would be a better label; we didn't think of it at the time for some reason. I also agree that the tooltips could be more informative...

Thanks for bringing this up. I agree; we need to add the concept of a network profile and have a GitHub issue for it. But we haven't gotten to it yet. (Our devs think this is a good first issue for anybody looking to join the team, in case anybody reading this is.) Another way to get to the com...

Answer A: "last activity" on the post history of questions is misleading.
The last activity shown there was for the whole page, same as what you see in the question list. That's confusing in the history case, as you point out. We talked about updating it to show the correct information, but since the entire history is already shown, you can easily see what the last activ...

Answer A: Implement duplicate up-down vote buttons
For the buttons, I propose something bolder: don't duplicate them, move them. The logical time to make a voting decision is when you've read a post, so I agree they belong at the bottom. But why have them at the top? Currently we bundle the reporting of existing votes and the voting buttons toge...

Answer A: Have permalink button show a popup instead of redirecting
The Permalink control now allows you to copy a working URL for the post through the usual browser affordance (right-click + "copy URL" on desktop browsers, long-press on touch interfaces).
