Numbering Display Bug

I think there is a bug with a final text numbering not matching the numbering in the preview.

I recently posted this answeron meta. When I edit the question the preview of the text displays correct numbering but once the edit is saved the numbering is displayed incorrectly (possibly connected to this older bug?)

Here is a picture showing the error. The first half is the display when the post is being edited, and the second half when the answer is posted:

example of bug where the first half is the display when it is being edited, and second half when the answer has been posted.

This is a test with known input.

  1. First entry in ordered list.
  2. Second ordered list entry.
    • First entry in subordinate list under point 2.
    • Second unordered list entry.
  3. Third entry in outer ordered list.
  4. Outer list entry 4.
  1. First entry in second ordered list.
  2. Outer list 2, entry 2.
    1. Entry 1 of subordinate list in outer list 2, entry 2.
    2. Second entry of subordinate ordered list.
  3. Back to outer list 2. This should be entry 3.

All the above looks correct in the preview. Using HTML <ol>, <ul>, and <li> tags.
