Wikipedia lets you "Show changes" before saving an edit.
Stack Exchange is also missing a diff during editing, but as a workaround, editing has a 5-minute grace period so you can (usually) revise during that period.
BTW, thanks for posting this. I had the same request. (more) |

No, "entry" is correct. [It's another word for "article"](https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Entry&redirect=no). Meanwhile, "[page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Administration#Data_structure_and_development)" is more general than "[article](https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... (more) |

| Question | — |
Why can I downvote before I can comment? As a "new user", I'm able to downvote, but not comment. Shouldn't it be the other way around? I should be able to explain the problem with a post before I'm able to affect another user's score, no? That's how it works on Stack Exchange (which I use a lot).[^1] I'm asking because I just downvoted... (more) |

Point of clarification: That's what I'm referring to as "discarding". You're correct on "what you would like". (more) |

Sorry if I was unclear. I meant, for whoever implements this feature in the website code, it's something to watch out for. I'm not really concerned about it myself, or at least it hasn't come up for me. (more) |

Oh! I didn't notice that button. I didn't expect it to be in the editing toolbar since everything else there is for formatting. (It's like combining the Edit and File menus in a Windows program.) Personally I would align it to the right edge, or better yet below the editor near where the the "dra... (more) |

| Question | — |
Add a "Discard draft" button If I want to discard a draft question/edit and start anew, I have to click Cancel then find my way back to the ask/edit page, or navigate back and refresh. I'd like to have a Discard draft button to do it directly. Additionally, it's not super obvious that "Cancel" will discard a draft, so thi... (more) |

A: Allow discarding of drafts As of January 3, 2021, clicking Cancel will discard the draft. (I'm posting for posterity since the user who marked this as completed didn't post anything. They also didn't explicitly state the functionality, but I'm inferring based on my own testing.) (more) |

@#36396 again, 'This is when editing a post, **not a comment**. An "Edit Comment" is called an "Edit summary" on Wikipedia and Stack Exchange.' And by "post" I mean a question or answer. (more) |

Did you accidentally put your username instead of your email? That just got me too and there was no error message or anything. [Posted here](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/295249) (more) |

| Question | — |
Sign In fails silently if you put your username instead of your email I just went to sign in but the "Sign in" button didn't do anything. There was no error or nothing. Then I realized I put my username instead of my email address. Once I put in my email, it worked. There should be some sort of feedback in this case, like an error message. For comparison, if you... @#53196 It doesn't seem to be zoom-dependent on my system - the same amount of text overflows; the only difference is that the scroll bar stays the same size, which is only a nominal difference. I'm also not sure why it would be screen-dependent, since the one I'm using now has plenty of space; m... (more) |

@#36396 Edited to clarify. This is **when editing a post**, not a comment. An "Edit Comment" is called an "Edit summary" [on Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Edit_summary) and [Stack Exchange](https://meta.stackexchange.com/tags/edit-summary/info). (more) |
