I just ran into this issue. This happens when I enter a post where I have created a question or I created an answer and I am not being able to expand the notification inbox. (Using FireFox myself) Other posts, I am able to expand the notification inbox. So for instance, I able to expand the notificat... (more) |

Unless you suggest that Codidact can have a wave of sponsors like StackExchange, I don't expect anyone to make a salary on this website. (more) |

@monica Hmm actually, I just now tried different pictures. That seemed to work... That's really odd. They're both pictures of the same file type... I don't understand why I can do other pictures but not the one I was trying to do. (more) |

@manassehkatz I've tried this on other internet browsers like Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer (so the OS is Windows 10). Same results. Using the latest version of Firefox (no beta builds). Picture is a 14kB .jpg file. File name was "Capture.jpg" because I was simply using the snipping tool and t... (more) |

Question | — |
Unable to upload a picture to answers, questions, etc. I'm using Mozilla Firefox. When I try to upload a picture to a question or answer, I get the following error: ``` error: "Images must be one of png, jpeg, jpg, gif" ``` However, it would be easy to verify whether or not I have the correct file type for the picture. I'm 100% sure that I'm upda... (more) |

@Olin , you could tag this as a `feature-request` and perhaps they could implement something like this. (more) |

Question | — |
Can there be some sort of way to save your progress when asking/answering questions? I was typing out a question that I was going to answer myself but when I was drafting up an answer, my internet browser decided to crash. It is a minor inconvenience but it did take me a while to type all of that. My plan was to write up an answer and then just copy and paste once I submitted the que... (more) |

I think "EENG" might be good. That was the suffix for electrical engineering courses at my university. I think long URL names like "electricalengineering.codidact...." aren't entirely necessary. If we do expand for more engineering types, mechanical engineering could be MENG, civil CIENG, aerospace A... (more) |

Interestingly enough, as Dave mentioned LaTeX (but not necessarily relevant to Mathjax), there is a [package called "CircuiTikz"](https://www.overleaf.com/learn/latex/CircuiTikz_package). That would be an interesting tool to utilize in lieu of Circuitlab but probably would take far more effort, thoug... (more) |

@Monica correct. If we can not have Circuitlab, users can upload a photo. The reason why Circuitlab was a good tool is because it allowed other people to modify it and/or simulate it and, as Dave mentioned, provided someone to quickly upload a diagram if that was not in the OP's disposal. I wouldn't ... (more) |

There's also a meta post on EE.SE on them [announcing the implementation](https://electronics.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/963/embedding-a-schematic-editor/2708#2708) of this service. Perhaps that can help. (more) |

@Monica , frankly I don't know. I remember one time I was [troubleshooting why schematic upload from this website wasn't working](https://electronics.meta.stackexchange.com/questions/7012/is-there-a-problem-with-circuitlab-save-and-insert-today/7013#7013) to which a former SE employee explained what ... @Monica We also had a website called [Circuitlab](https://www.circuitlab.com/) that was a website plugin to EE.SE. Mathjax would be nice as well. (more) |

Well, well, well... I haven't seen you in a long time, Olin :) (talking about from the EE.SE website of course) I have proposed a [general engineering](https://meta.codidact.com/questions/74999) website. Do you believe that we should have dedicated engineering websites instead? I'll be more than happ... (more) |

Question | — |
Body preview of writing a question can appear differently than when posted... There was some strange behavior when I typed in my last post. I noticed that there is different behavior when you type something inside a preview of a body versus when you make a post (or save the changes). Actual result Here's an example: Bullet points after returning a single line when typ... (more) |

More social media/online communities to link to profile. As of right now (date of posting), you can only link one website and a Twitter account. Yes. You're right. Perhaps I should tone down the amount of potential topics. Maybe we can have a separate website for more general engineering. Good idea :) I'll edit the question and topics. (more) |

@Monica Cellio, yes, I would agree that I would make this more hardware oriented and less about open source. I removed the part in the OP about "open source". And thanks, I just edited to include the `proposal` tag. (more) |

Thanks for the feedback. I would like to see this website focus more on hardware and "do it yourself" projects, things that could move with software. I wouldn't mind people asking about things they need help with their Arduino script, etc. (See my answer about what could be on topic). I'd just rather... (more) |

A: Single Board Microcontroller/Computer Codidact Site (Arduinos, RPi, etc.) What would be considered on-topic? These are the questions that a user could be allowed to ask: Troubleshooting code and/or hardware, provided that the user provides enough information of issues that they have seen and what output they desire. Proper design and usage for electronic parts l... (more) |
