Question Let's have the same icon for moderators across views
Currently the moderator icon is not consistent across views. See for example this post by Jirka Hanika, a moderator in Linguistics: >Post user card detail And then see who it looks in his/her profile page: >Profile page detail Both icons mean the same, but are different. Would it be in...

Question The letter "ৡ" shows as a "?" in a community generated link to a question
I saw a banner pointing to the question What does the letter do ৡ in Bangla? from the Languages & Linguistics site. The image shows like this: > Image with a broken char And currently it is hosted exactly in https://languages.codidact.com/ca/posts/286095.png As you can see, the "ৡ" Bangla...

Answer A: Future planning: what user preferences would be useful?
It would be great to have a way to define where the preview is showed: above, below, or next to the text editor

Question What about having a category in Meta for documentation about the platform?
I keep learning about the hard work that has been done in Codidact over time. There are many little things that are known by the veterans, but may not be easy to understand for the newcomers like me. For example, yesterday I learnt that the Table of contents below a question shows by default if th...

Answer A: Future planning: what user preferences would be useful?
Choosing the language of the interface. In my experience in non English sites from SE, not having a user interface in their own language was a major obstacle for many users that would otherwise have joined and participated more often. If we foresee a future where communities can accept posts in...

Answer A: Future planning: what user preferences would be useful?
Currently, the user profile has these fields: - Avatar - Username - Profile description - Website URL - Twitter account When in a community, I sometimes feel like sharing some of my personality with those in the community: who am I, what I like, etc. However, what refrains me from doing it ...

Answer A: Future planning: what user preferences would be useful?
I would enjoy having a network profile, where I could see all the posts and comments I have posted over time.

Answer A: Future planning: what user preferences would be useful?
A succinct list of posts, the time they were posted and its current score, as well as the last time they were active. (and maybe show how many comments they have)

Answer A: Future planning: what user preferences would be useful?
Some way to track the votes you are receiving. Some kind of "reputation timeline" that explains which posts were voted upon over time. It may not be used in the long run if reputation is removed entirely, but currently it is a good way to show the success of a post. This may be specially useful...

Answer A: How can we improve community proposals?
It would be useful to have a basic listing of the current status of all the proposals. This way, we could have a good overview that would provide the basic details of each proposal. Using the status- tags, this should do quite doable. In the future (1), there could be a timeline of each prop...

Answer A: How can we improve community proposals?
When the site is launched there should be a way to notify those who showed interest in the community proposal. Otherwise, it may well happen that they do not get to know about it unless they track the category Site proposals constantly.

Question Can the post history show a link to the suggested edit when an edit was done this way?
I suggested an edit to a post a while ago. The link to the suggestion can be found browsing through the activity in my user page. However, it does not show in the post history, where you can see: > Post edited by fedorqui‭ · 2020-12-31T12:33:44Z (6 minutes ago) include [community-switcher] ...

Question Can we have a way to order the sites in the community switcher?
As explained in the Recent feature changes to the Codidact software, in December 2020 we got: > Added community switcher (right side of the top bar). It works very well and it is very useful. Currently, it seems to me that is displaying the sites in the same order as they are in the dashboard, ...

Question Should we have a grace period of X minutes on edits or a way to mark changes as "minor"?
I normally spend quite a lot of time writing my posts. However, after posting them I read them again and normally find some subtleties that I want to change: some commas, a better title, these kind of things. These are not relevant changes and I don't expect them to be part of the history of the p...

Question "Copy link" does not work in Safari 12.1
I am using Safari Version 12.1 (14607.1.40.1.4). Whenever I want to copy a link using the "Copy Link" button, it does not work and throws this error in the console: ``` TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating 'navigator.clipboard.writeText') ``` Further info here: Error in con...

Question Can the title of the question be a "clean" link to the question itself?
Sometimes I find myself browsing through the site and want to share a question. If I arrived through a link to an answer, I do not have a good way to "clean" the URL and be able to get the URL of the question itself. If we had this link, this would become easier to do: just click on the title and ...

Question Where can I find the discussions over the general approach of Codidact?
I am visiting Codidact regularly and enjoying to see the creation of this set of communities. When in Somewhere Else, I used to browse through old discussion threads, as well as a podcast or blog, to understand why some decisions were made. That helped me a lot to get the touch of the site, its evolu...

Question Notifications button not working when inside a Q&A when it contains posts you created
GitHub Issue: https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/162 When I am in the main page or browsing any page in the site, the notifications button works well. However, if I am in a Q&A page where there is a post I created, either a question or an answer, it does not work and produces a JavaS...

Question Should users without the ability to review suggested edits see the 'suggested edit pending...' text if they cannot see the diff?
I just found a post that has a suggested edit pending on it: >Post with a "suggested edit pending" The problem is that I don't have the privilege to review edits (or whatever name it has) so clicking on it does not produce any output. Should I be able to see the suggested edit? I would sa...

Question The history diff does not highlight tags being added
When a post is edited to just include a tag such as [tag:status-completed], the diff rendered in its history does not show any difference. See for example in the question https://meta.codidact.com/questions/279268, where its history displays like this: >Diff of post when just adding status-comp...

Question Initial revision of a question missing in its history
I noticed that the initial version of a question is missing in its history. The post Can we have a button to insert a table in posts? was asked on November 25, and on November 29 marked as [tag:status-completed]. However, in its history there is just the last action, not the initial revision. I...

Question Missing image in "Answer scoring and ordering" article of the Help center
In the Help center article Answer scoring and ordering there is an image with a broken URL, so it does not render: >Current view of this help center page, with a broken image As you see, the image linked with https://meta.codidact.com/assets/scoringtable.png is not present in the server, so it ...

Question Can we have a button to insert a table in posts?
Since tables are now available (hooray!), it can be helpful to users to include a reference in the format buttons of the post. So from the current set of icons: > Current design of buttons when editing a post We can add another one like the last one here (using the `fa-table` element in Fon...

Question Can "last activity" provide more context on what it was that happened?
Currently (November 2020), the list of questions displays a "last activity" under each one of them. It refers, obviously, to when and who made the last action in the Q&A thread and links to the user that did that. However, there are cases where the activity is not obvious or, to put it simply, it ...

Question What is the 'lottery' button for?
While browsing through different sites I notices the 'Lottery' button in the header of the Posts pages. It shows next to 'Activity', 'Age', and 'Score', so it is indeed a way to order the questions. The name seems quite straight forward, so I assume it is a kind of 'show me the list of questions r...

Question Why do tags URL contain the ID of the site?
I have been browsing through the tags on different sites and found out its URL contains the ID of the site they belong to: - In Linguistics (id 36 as a site): - Spanish is https://languages.codidact.com/categories/36/tags/4131 - Danish is https://languages.codidact.com/categories/36/tags/3...

Question Codidactyl tour for new questions on mobile gets harder and harder to read
