I think all Unix-like systems should be allowed, I suspect the vast majority of questions would be about Linux (+ distros) anyway. One thing I'd be careful about however is making Android on-topic - it would certainly mean a flood of mobile development & support questions popping up. (more) |

For now, please note that most communities here are small and most sites are still just starting up. So while you can import posts from SE, please do this very carefully so that the imported content don't flood a site already struggling with activity. (more) |

@Chgg Clou Because even the largest communities here are struggling with lack of user activity. So we shouldn't launch new communities that have a purposely narrow scope, when they could be merged with others & utilize different categories. Reality check: we simply can't launch a Finance site, an Economics site and an Accounting site at once. I don't see either of these becoming particularly active any time soon. I think the most important consideration is to consider overlaps. Move posts between different categories through edits? I think it would be very handy if users with edit privileges, or at the very least the OP themselves, could move posts between different categories on the same site. @manassehkatz Firefox (for example) by default whines like crazy each time you want to close a window. I have to enable non-default settings to make that behavior go away. No need for extensions or plug-ins, just run it as it comes by default. (more) |
