A: What are the steps between community proposal and the actual spawn of that community? This answer can be considered semi-official. It's a mix of "what we currently appear to be doing" and "how I'd want it do be". 1. There is a site suggestion category here on Meta, where everyone with a community can suggest a new site by using the [proposal] tag. If you have a nice idea but no com... (more) |

[status-planned]. There'll be an option to exclude specific categories from this list (yes/no option for each category). Code is written, pending review and deploy. (more) |

@ArtOfCode you don't need to find time anymore. I'm working on it... :) (FWIW it won't be solved through "mod-only tags", but through the option of a mod-editable calendar-like list. (more) |

@Zerotime this request here looks like it is a bit more (a site calendar), but that’s IMO likely going to happen later than the other request. (more) |

Re the dashboard: It uses the information of whether you have opened the category (you’ll see a grey bubble in the category menu if you haven’t), so accessing the category page should clear it too. (more) |

AFAICT, there are some, but few duplicates, probably because the sites are quite new. Some changes to closure and duplicate marking are being deliberated, but nowhere near implemented AFAIK. No Code Review, but you can suggest one in the Site Proposals category. (more) |

That makes sense. I’ll look into finding a more clear wording. (more) |

tl;dr of the duplicate: You have as many daily votes as reputation. (The minimum number N is set to 0 currently for troll mitigation). (more) |

A: List comments on the user profile page. This has been completed now. All undeleted comments are shown in the shiny new "Activity" tab on user profiles. For example, your comment activity looks like this: Comment activity for Isaac Moses Furthermore, there is a more complete log available for moderators (in the moderator tools, then ... (more) |

A: What is an easy way to determine my Trust Level? While trust levels are going to replace reputation eventually, they are still being designed. So currently, we use a reputation system, which was included in the base software (QPixel by ArtOfCode) we use for developing this site. Your reputation is shown next to your user name (currently: 20). ... (more) |

@Zerotime yeah. There is mpst likely a bug in the reputation recalc script. @ArtOfCode will surely look into it later when they have time. (more) |

Most likely a combination of two things: a troll downvoting all questions and some issues with restoring reputation (recalculating after deleting the votes). I'll answer, once we have fixed this. (more) |

A: Why is there a voting limit? We had (and unfortunately still have) a nasty troll, that attempts to downvote all the questions and creates sock accounts for that to escape suspensions. To stop them, we had to employ some limitations. Voting limitations will likely stay in general, although we can and will improve the exact mechan... (more) |

A: A proposal for keyboard shortcuts Update: Now active by default (no user script needed). See this answer I have hacked together a userscript for this. If it works, we can also add it to the "original" Codidact software. If it doesn't, blame me programming something past midnight. Install - See the source Tested only in... (more) |

Not trivial, as Art said, but definitely someone, we can have a userscript for first and then later add to core. I can look at it later/tomorrow, though. (more) |

This makes sense. The list of questions used for the random question is cached (the same as the "hot" list in the sidebar) and this would be not, but that doesn't sound too problematic here, given that the images are cached. (more) |

I can add a HTML example for an image in a link, but it's hard to do this for the question ads, as we'd need JS for this (as we can't know, which question the random one links to) (more) |

@aCVn Yeah. The idea is definitely to only exclude some categories, not to limit it to Meta (of course, this'll be configureable per category and community) (more) |

Community Ad Templates now available You have a website or a blog where you want to advertise for your favorite Codidact community? Or you got permission to advertise on someone else's website? Great. Please spread the word and invite other people to our communities. Today we have deployed a feature, that makes this even easier... (more) |

@Sigma Doing that in some way makes sense. Maybe, we could also just consider actions within the last year (or other time frame), which would prevent "complex" decaying math and would be more easy to explain (more) |

Also, with regards to thresholds: We'll probably want to allow communities to change them, but we'll need good defaults of course.
Furthermore, with regards to starting a new site: We could mark some privileges as "automatically granted" (ex. Remove new poster rest.,. Edit, Edit Tags and Close) fo... (more) |

I think this is a good idea. A question I have, though. For example, what should happen with posting/reading restrictions in categories? Our current idea is, that we can set a minimum trust level, but this wouldn't be possible. We could, though, add 2 checkboxes: "Prevent posting for new users" (requ... (more) |
