Comment Post #277270 If we added live functionality for comment threads (auto-update), Art wouldn’t need to shoot you. :) Just add a category where only Articles (=Chat rooms) are allowed and use the discussion area below as chat. (Works even better if we’ll eventually support “following” posts)

Comment Post #277253 Vote score = votes on nomination (whether using up - down or something like STV) and not reputation/“trust levels”. Otherwise it wouldn’t be really a vote/election, would it?

Comment Post #277130 @ArtOfCode I can reproduce. It’s not the featured link, but the one of the hot posts. It’s likely the wrong URL generation function (needs to be generic share link).

Comment Post #277092 Ah. You’ll need to click the “Get Started” Button to see the hints in the sidebar. :)

Comment Post #277092 Huh. No sidebar? Isn’t there something showing you some hints and text examples for your question?

Comment Post #277092 Hm. I’ll look into this later. For now, can’t you click “Next” in the sidebar? I think it doesn’t validate the input, so you should be able to continue anyway.

Comment Post #277088 Cookie-settings are (per GDPR FWIW) only necessary, when your legal justification for having them is consent. When it’s “necessity to offer the service” or “legitimate interest” they *shouldn’t*. But I’ll look into it and come back later with a Matomo opt-out Link.

Comment Post #277088 @Zerotime Except for Matomo, we only have so-called necessary cookies (mostly account management). You do not have to explicitly agree to those and you can’t (AFAIK IANAL) object and continue to use the site with an account. For Matomo, I don’t have access. I’ve asked for one, so that I can answer yo...

Comment Post #277088 We’re using Matomo, so there should be a link that should allow everyone to disable it. I think it also respects Do Not Track headers by the browser.

Comment Post #277052 @Monica Cellio that shouldn't be related, as it's likely the issue that we had with the preview on load, that it is only triggered, when a key is pressed (and not when the input changes) (and also now on page load)

Comment Post #277052 Hm... no repro in Edge or Firefox: [image](https://s3.amazonaws.com/storage.qpixel.artofcode.co.uk/BZch8TYrxmgnXsmEGcThgWha). Can you try force-reloading the page (Ctrl+F5)? Maybe a script file has been cached.

Comment Post #277019 @Dani if it's a small and easily reproducible problem, then comments are fine. Otherwise use a new question, as it's now a "core feature".

Comment Post #277007 Besides that, creating sites without even a few persons committing to support it at the start, is just extremely unlikely to work. Furthermore, the features and rules are public (whereas most rules need to be made by the community itself), so it's not like users can't know, what to expect.

Comment Post #277007 @MathPhysics user profiles are up for some changes. Other things will change, when we have the time for them. Differences in "quality" are expected between a site that has been developed by employees for > 10 years in comparison to a site developed entirely by volunteers, that isn't a year old. If yo...

Comment Post #277016 @Dani Yes. I'll improve the mobile view in the future. The problem is, that we likely want the sidebar to be broken down, so not Body, Title, Tags | Explanation, but Body, ExplanationBody, Title, ExplanationTitle, Tags, ExplanationTags...

Answer A: A proposal for keyboard shortcuts
You are lucky! This has been completed. It's now in core, so no need for a user script anymore. There are also some additions to the user script version, namely, that post, user and tag lists are now supported.

Question Announcing a new user tour
Oh... yet another announcement from me :) So, we built a new user tour, which explains how Codidact works. Every new user will get an inbox-notification inviting them to take the tour (only once, not at every community join). Guided by our friendly neighborhood Codidactyl, they'll learn about a...

Comment Post #277012 re 1: I'll look, what the problem here was. In general, using the option in the Tools menu should work if you want to feature a specific post (and prevents issues with using the wrong post ID). re 2: I'll look into it again, maybe separating "display end" and "event"..., re 3: Yes. It's currently adm...

Question Announcing featured links
You might have noticed, that the Hot Posts sidebar widget changed. This is, because we added some new features surrounding it. Most noteably, moderators can now feature links to that bulletin. This is how featured links will look like: new bulletin look Moderators can make changes to the bul...

Comment Post #276989 Isn’t that in the blue box shown at the top of the page when adding a new post? FWIW there is no process here AFAICT, even less a formal list of steps than in the other case. Probably both changing the tags or posting a new question are fine.

Answer A: What are the steps between community proposal and the actual spawn of that community?
This answer can be considered semi-official. It's a mix of "what we currently appear to be doing" and "how I'd want it do be". 1. There is a site suggestion category here on Meta, where everyone with a community can suggest a new site by using the [proposal] tag. If you have a nice idea but no com...
