More detail: I've had to log in again on mobile several times today (Firefox on Android, not private browsing). I haven't had to log in again on desktop once though (Firefox on Fedora Linux). (more) |

Question | — |
HTML entities & the question content preview An ampersand shows as `&` instead of `&` in the following question content preview: A question content preview with an HTML entity instead of an ampersand I've also included an ampersand in the title of this question to test whether the title is also affected in the question preview. As can... (more) |

To add an anecdotal data point: This morning I switched on 2FA and then logged in on mobile, ticking "remember me". A few hours later I had to log in on mobile again. (more) |

Question | — |
Confusing reuse of styling between button and tab header At the top of the page there are sections for the community's Categories, which are displayed as tabs that can be switched between. For example, here on Meta Codidact there are "Q&A", "Site Proposals", and "Blog". Similarly, on the next line down there are sections for things relevant to the curre... (more) |

Question | — |
The mystery of the alt text warning in a post with no images Amusingly, a post about alt text triggered the missing alt text warning: A post containing a code block that triggered the alt text warning I can see why the warning was triggered - the post contains the markdown for an image, which has the standard placeholder text instead of a meaningful desc... Question | — |
Quicker replacement of image alt text placeholder After adding an image to a Codidact post, the automatically entered markdown looks like this: ```text Image alt text ``` The `Image alt text` part is to be replaced with a meaningful description of the image, for use by screen readers, or by browsers if the image fails to load or loads slowly... Question | — |
Surprising page load after pressing "follow new" Clicking "follow new" below an answer results in the page being reloaded with that answer as the highlighted answer at the top of the answer list, with the message "You are accessing this answer with a direct link". This is potentially jarring for someone not expecting a page change. It also makes fo... (more) |

Would it be better to edit this question to be about adding additional links to the notifications page, or to ask that as a separate question so that the bulk of this one can be closed as a duplicate? (more) |

In addition to an extra link at the top of the notifications drop down panel, would it also be useful to have a link from the user profile? That's where Olin looked for them, and I'd find it a natural place to look too.
As there is already a list of sections along the top of the profile page, it s... (more) |

Monica, is this also relevant to the [GitHub issue](https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/928) you opened recently? I don't know if the existence of `https://meta.codidact.com/users/me/notifications` affects your decision on whether that issue is important? (more) |

If you scroll down in your notifications in the drop down panel you will eventually get to the bottom, where it links to a [dedicated notifications page](https://meta.codidact.com/users/me/notifications). I found this useful recently for finding something that I knew I'd been notified about a long ti... (more) |

The [third example I linked to from the question](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/277238) was edited by Moshi shortly after, and now shows the double square brackets whereas it did not previously.
Suggests this may be related to the date and time that the post was saved, and may be stored incorrec... (more) |

Question | — |
Should markdown links work in comment thread titles? Markdown links work in comment thread comments, but not in comment thread titles: A comment thread with raw markdown in the title Would it be better if they worked in the title too? If there is a reason to avoid links in thread titles, would it be better to convert the link text to standard ... (more) |

Answer | — |
A: Impolite comments Since this question was asked, the ability to flag individual comments has been implemented, so the workaround mentioned in the other answers is no longer required. It may not be immediately apparent that this is now possible, so here's a quick guide: - At the bottom of the comment thread click... (more) |

Answer | — |
A: Comment flagging is hidden from inexperienced users I do not see flagging as something that should be restricted to experienced users who know where to find the link. A new user who sees a comment on their first post and wants to flag it should not have to wonder how to do this, or wonder whether flagging is an option for them. Including the flag l... (more) |

Question | — |
Comment flagging is hidden from inexperienced users GitHub issue: https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/544 In the past, it was not possible to flag individual comments for moderator attention. There was a Meta question asking how to respond to comments that would otherwise be flagged. The suggestion was to instead flag the post on which t... (more) |

In case it's useful in investigating this, I've happened upon a [post with a footnote that correctly has just single square brackets](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/276213/276222#answer-276222).

Thanks for the info. Sounds like most of my concerns are already planned for.
In the Discord specific community channels I see notifications of new questions, which is why I wondered if the same bot could notify of new answers. If it's planned to have notifications of new answers directly from Cod... (more) |

Having jotted some thoughts down in this comment thread, I'm wondering whether it would be useful to have a separate Meta discussion about whether specific question discussions are better hosted in a Discord thread or a question comment thread.

A Discord channel would allow notification of new answers, but I don't know if it's possible to set that up in a Discord thread. Maybe it would be useful to have a way of following new answers on a specific question (I couldn't see a way for new answers, only for new comment threads). (more) |

Thanks for mentioning Discord threads - being unfamiliar with Discord I hadn't realised that was an option.
I'm happy to see comments on questions as long-lived rather than just suggestions for clarification to be deleted as soon as the clarification is made. My reason for wanting the strategy dis... (more) |

Creating new Discord channels I've been looking at the Codidact Communities Discord channels (see the join us in chat link in the right hand panel of this page).
