Question | — |
Rejected suggested edit changes what is listed as the original text I viewed a rejected suggested edit, and then made an edit of my own to the same post. I then viewed the rejected suggested edit again, and noticed that the "before" content (the left hand side) included my changes, even though the suggested edit was rejected before I made my changes. > The rejecte... A: Do not close the notification menu when a notification's item is opened in another tab Yes let's fix this I would definitely like to see the notifications panel stay open after a ctrl+click (or cmd+click on MacOS). This is standard browser functionality which should not result in an unexpected change to the page. Its purpose is to allow uninterrupted continued reading of the current t... (more) |

I also like to be able to open 5 notifications each in their own new tab in quick succession, and then close the notifications menu once at the end, ready to continue what I was doing in this tab. (more) |

Using the "Insert image" button above the "Body" field when editing or drafting a post results in there being no keyboard cursor in the "Body" field afterwards.
To reproduce the keyboard cursor being moved to the end of the "Body" field, paste in an image using either ctrl+V (or cmd+V on MacOS) or... (more) |

Although I'd give this feature request very low priority in favour of more important things, I agree it would be useful and I would like to see it eventually. I too am wary of obstructing unwanted actions at the expense of also obstructing positive actions.
One thing this feature would allow is pa... (more) |

A: Allow users to copy-paste text and images at once Current functionality At present, text and images can be pasted into the Codidact post editor "Body" field separately, but not together. Each of these works in a specific way. Text Text is pasted as plain text, with no formatting. If you copy a paragraph that contains bold and italics only the t... (more) |

It seems at least the [part related to answer drafts](https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/538) was already fixed in 2021, so this may be a regression or a new unrelated problem. (more) |

Thanks - that's helpful.
On looking at your example search results again, I see I was wrong about the results being in alphabetical order, so I tried a few more examples. It now seems like a search for 2 letters gives results in alphabetical order, but a search for 1 letter gives results in some u... (more) |

The first part of this has been raised previously as [User search only finds names which begin with the search term](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/291717). I haven't marked this post as a duplicate because the bug with the sort buttons has not previously been raised.
I can confirm that I also se... (more) |

I would see no problem with making it mandatory to fix the alt text before posting (a permanently disabled Save button, rather than a delay). I fully appreciate that the intention behind the delay is positive, I just suspect that the overall impression may not be. Both of us are aiming to see Codidac... (more) |

I've made myself some notes to raise something about per user and per post settings. I won't raise it yet, as it will be easier to say what's required once these decisions about MathML have reached consensus. (more) |

If you use AI to generate alt text, I hope the input is the whole post, not just the image. Ideally the wording says what the image means to the specific post, not just describing the image in general.
For example, if the same image is used in 2 different posts, it's likely the alt text would be d... (more) |

A: Remove the timer before saving a post when an image has no alt text Please include alt text I would much prefer that all images in posts have alt text. The help article linked from that message explains the benefits. I don't know how many current users use a screen reader or other assistive technology, but this number is likely to grow as the Codidact communities... (more) |

If we were starting new today, I'd like to see Markdown as an optional feature that could be switched on or off for different communities, like MathJax, but several years in that would be a bigger change due to Markdown being part of the interface. Also I expect most communities would struggle to get... (more) |

Even with Markdown occasionally formatting something it shouldn't, I suspect most users will continue to prefer to write Markdown rather than HTML, just because they are used to it. Pressing the buttons in the editor adds Markdown rather than HTML, and the help pages describe Markdown rather than HTM... (more) |

My comments weren't intended as an objection to your proposal (hence me starting with "I agree"). I just wanted to point out that MathJax (like Markdown) may have a longer future than you might expect. (more) |

I understood that you aren't promoting stopping MathJax at present. My comments were in response to "MathJax served its purpose when there was no alternative", "MathJax will be a footnote in history", and "eventually it will fade away". I understand that your proposal is to allow use of the `<math>` ... (more) |

A: MathML and the math tag - MathJax without JavaScript Allow use of the `` tag directly Whether we convert MathJax to MathML behind the scenes or not, users should be able to directly add `` tags to their posts. We currently allow both Markdown and HTML in posts. Markdown has the advantages of being quicker to write and easier to read when not render... (more) |

A: Should a question page have a line above the title? I would like to see the blue line removed from question pages, and only remain on the user page where it serves a purpose in separating the tab names from the tab content. On a question page it detracts in the following ways: - Leaves less of the question page visible without scrolling. - Requir... (more) |

Question | — |
Should a question page have a line above the title? At the top of the user page there is a row of tabs, such as "Profile", "Activity", and "Vote Summary". These are followed by a horizontal blue line which separates them from the content of each tab. The active tab has a background of the same blue, making it clear what this blue line is for: > The...
