Answer A: Can we get a page with links to all of the top level posts from across the network as they are created?
Ideally, this would be done at codidact.com itself, but that's not possible right now. We'll have a look at doing something like this, but it'll be taking a back seat for now - other features are higher priority! For now, there are a couple of ways to find new stuff: the Codidact Communities...

Comment Post #276871 @Zerotime the only thing that's wholesale _forbidden_ is anything illegal, which includes serving sexually explicit content to minors. Less explicit or not-explicit content isn't forbidden, but could still be inappropriate to be looking at in a workplace.

Answer A: Pending edit review should highlight changes
This has now been implemented - watch out for it in the next deploy.

Comment Post #276770 Alt text isn't _required_ at any point. The system catches (or is supposed to...) posts that don't have any and throws a reminder saying "hey you might want to add some", but it will still let you post without.

Comment Post #276770 I have a suspicion that this is down to the check for alt text, but without a solid repro it's hard to prove that...

Comment Post #276830 To be honest... as long as everything is properly attributed, and as long as the content is _good_... I don't see a problem with this

Comment Post #276770 Browser console - hit F12 and pick the Console tab, it's where any useful debugging information will go.

Comment Post #74992 @AA If you'd asked me a week ago I'd've said yes... I'm back at work now, so realistically probably 2-3 days, I'd guess? Most will probably be shorter, but I'm not going to make promises I can't deliver :)

Comment Post #74992 Not quite _on demand_, @AA - import is a manual process that requires a developer to run it, but we're happy for folks to say "hey, please import post id X" and we'll pull it in next time someone's available to do it... it's not immediate, but can be done.

Comment Post #276728 @manassehkatz that's just the site-specific stuff - Meta doesn't have any, so that 404 is expected. The code for modals is in the main application JS.

Comment Post #276650 That's... odd. It's not set up for this at the moment, but having local user preferences like that could be valuable... I'll put it on the list.

Comment Post #276642 Clarification: the draft mentions the Codidact board in a few places, because this is how we think it should work. We're not set up as a legal organisation yet (though we're looking into it), so that doesn't apply _currently_, but by the time we're ready to elect the first Panel, that shouldn't be a ...

Answer A: Can I use @Username to notify users from within my question or answer?
Not at the moment, and it's not a planned feature. To be able to do this, we'd need to find a way to design the feature to avoid abuse - if you could notify Jon Skeet on every C# question you ever had, that'd be great, but I'm pretty sure he'd get tired of it. There may be use cases for this kind ...

Answer A: Can we have an error if the to be uploaded image is too large?
For now, while we're still looking into how to better do image upload, I've added an error indicator in. Rolling out Soon™.

Turns out we weren't allowing the alt attribute through the sanitizer. The fix is rolling out now.

Comment Post #276578 I don't think an "are you sure" popup is being proposed here - just a button, so you'd pick your image then click Upload to upload it (as opposed to the current situation of just picking the image and having it upload automatically).

Answer A: How is Codidact financed?
@manassehkatz has already answered what you're directly asking about here, in how the organisation is financed. But there's also this: > While this partially answers my question about who runs this site (only partially as no usernames are listed)... So, to clarify, here's the organisational str...

Answer A: Review the reviews, show other users' feedback, filter reviewable items by tags
These may well all be things we do when reviews are implemented. At the moment, reviews don't exist, so I'm marking this [status-deferred].

Comment Post #276537 Even with a dedicated category, there's no way we can expect people to search through _every_ post just in case it might have been reported before... duplicates happen, they're not a bad thing - and they deliberately don't count against you in any way.
