Comment Post #296130 I only have experience with two tools, f.lux and macOS night shift. They will shift the appearance of blue elements towards black, thus increasing the contrast in this case.

Comment Post #296106 Maybe you could edit the question to make it clear what you mean with captions? Also a clear title might improve the discoverability of the post.

Comment Post #296106 Can you show a screenshot where you mark what you mean with "question caption"? The title of the question? Or maybe the tags?

Comment Post #295358 For me, an unfilled circle would be as bad as a notification for a hidden activity. I would want to get rid of it and click on the community just to remove the circle.

Comment Post #295358 It would be great if the activity indicator wouldn't show up for activity I've filtered out! In particular in the incubator, which has a wide range of topics, this would be very useful.

Comment Post #294770 Until this is implemented, you can use an adblocker to remove sites you aren't interested in. The remaining ones will automatically rearrange themselves and it becomes much easier to quickly see if there is any activity.

Comment Post #293782 Works fine for me too if I open the items in new tabs (using right click and https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/right-links/ )

Comment Post #293763 @#64277 This isn't specifically about the posts by @#53401. Codidact has a cross-posting problem since long before he became active here. At some point, over 60% of PU posts were copied from other sites.

Answer A: Allow users to copy-paste text and images at once
I don't think this is a good idea. This would make cross-posting even easier. Instead of copy and pasting from other sites, it would be better if users would tailor their posts to the audience here on codidact. This would create original content on codidact and make codidact look less like some o...

Answer A: Add an option to import one's Q&A from Stackexchange to Codidact.
I don't think making cross-posting easier is a good idea. This makes it too easy for users to overwhelm communities with non-original content, which isn't good for the search engine ranking of Codidact, as Codidact will look just like any other scraper site to the search engines. Instead of ...

Answer A: What are duplicate questions?
I don't think it is necessary to define what a duplicate is for the whole network. Each community might have its own view and criteria when it comes to identifying duplicates and I think Codidact should give each community this freedom. For example, some communities are more focused on solving...

Comment Post #292455 "to the point where the stuff at the bottom actually adds confusion to the question." Although the stuff at the bottom contains the only clue that it is probably a cotoletta alla milanese. If the OP would spend a bit of effort on their question and add such information to the question, the image ...

Comment Post #291544 @#53890 The disadvantage of markdown links is that users can't immediately see where the link will lead them and they have to mouse hover first to see if it is a link within the same community or to an external site. If integrated into a sentence, markdown links can also be hard to notice. Espe...

Comment Post #291107 Grave consequences? Worst case the user loses some imaginary internet points, creates a new account and can subscribe their previous posts to get notifications about new comments/answers. Not much harm done, so I wouldn't call the consequences grave.

Comment Post #291107 TopAnswers has a similar mechanism. Instead of storing PI, the user gets a pin on sign-up. This works reasonable well. Most users seem perfectly capable to store their pin.

Comment Post #290962 While sorting by creation date (?) might not be the most useful sorting, it is at least consistent across the site, e.g. the community switcher at the top right has the exact same order. It would be very inconvenient having to learn a new layout without real gain. Also what happens for users wit...

Comment Post #290957 > Quoting content, and providing necessary attribution, is of course not something I’d ban. Comment Post #290957 Being able to mention (not pinging) users is absolute necessary in questions and answers.
