Question | — |
What are my options for access to my data being processed by Codidact? The GDPR requires (article 20 right to data portability, paragraph 1, in part) that: > 1\. The data subject shall have the right to receive the personal data concerning him or her, which he or she has provided to a controller, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and have the... Also, the text talks about "legal obligations or other exceptional circumstances", but the "other exceptional circumstances" part is (perhaps deliberately) AFAICT left undefined. My worry here is that, in the case of a rogue Team member, this leaves a hole large enough to steer an oceanliner through ... (more) |

@ArtOfCode But if evidence comes out that a user is, say, underage, or in violation of the ToS, such evidence could just as easily be made available to the Panel, couldn't it? And the Panel would (*should*) need to take all available evidence into consideration when making its decision. (more) |

@luap42 Then I would suggest simply saying that the Panel decides how to organize itself, within the constraints of its mandate and vote proportions needed for decisions. It doesn't seem like there's a need to call out a specific role, especially if that role is not further defined. (more) |

A: Second Iteration of Drafting the Codidact Arbitration & Review Panel > ARTICLE 18 > > The panel has the sole power to remove moderators for Codidact rule violations. In emergency situations the Codidact team can temporarily remove or suspend a moderator, but they need to initiate a proceeding and move a panel decision for removal and continuing the temporary remova... A: Second Iteration of Drafting the Codidact Arbitration & Review Panel > ARTICLE 4 > > After every election, the Panel elects one member as chairperson. I fail to find any other reference to the role of chairperson in the proposal. Especially considering that a "reporter" is assigned separately for each case, for what purpose is a chairperson elected among the mem... (more) |

A: What does ☗ mean? Administrator. If you hover (or, if you're on mobile, however you display the span title attribute), it'll show a tooltip "Administrator". (I tried to make a screenshot, but for whatever reason can't upload it, so you'll have to make do with a description in text.) (more) |

A: Impolite comments I would suggest to flag the post the comment is on and specify in the flag text that you're flagging to draw attention to a comment and which specific comment. Until comments are flaggable in their own right, that will at least draw the attention of a site moderator to the fact that there's a prob... (more) |

I'm not in the field, but I doubt that managing accounting, taxes, etc. would be specific enough to musical professionals that "accounting for musicians" would need to go on one site and "accounting for writers" would need to go on another and "accounting for photographers" on a third. Advice would a... (more) |

A: Difference between Codidact.org and codidact.com In short: codidact.org is about the project that aims to produce the Codidact Q&A software, the source code for which (currently QPixel, licensed under AGPL-3.0) is available on Github. codidact.com is one installation of the Codidact Q&A software, which hosts several Q&A communities. It's m... (more) |

Question | — |
"You were mentioned in a comment" notifications should show the title of the question The notifications drop-down shows the question title at least for comments that don't specifically ping you, and for answers to your own questions. However, if you're "mentioned" (pinged) in a comment, the notification only says "You were mentioned in a comment" and indicates which site that comme... (more) |

A: How can I conveniently opt out of Codidact analytics? It's not exactly an opt-out, but since you already have Privacy Badger installed, you can use it to block the requests. To do that, simply open the Privacy Badger drop-down, and pull the slider for analytics.codidact.org all the way to the left (the crossed-out circle for "blocked"). Alternativ... (more) |

Question | — |
Answer license defaults to site default, not category default I just noticed when posting a fourth writing challenge that the answer license there defaults to CC BY-SA 4.0. That's the site default license. Normally that wouldn't be a problem, but the default license for the Writing Challenges category is CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. It seems to me that answers should... (more) |

A: Can we get a page with links to all of the top level posts from across the network as they are created? You can already get something somewhat kinda-sorta similar to what you're asking for, but you have to work a little to set it up and it's not actually integrated into the Codidact UI. The key is that each category on each site has its own RSS (technically: Atom) feed. It's linked to near the botto... (more) |

Question | — |
Personal Productivity site I'm wondering if there would be any interest in a personal productivity Codidact site. Some things I can see being discussed on such a site: methods of organizing things that need to be done and/or tracked (Getting Things Done, Scrum, Kanban, ...), and how to achieve a specific goal within th... @OlinLathrop I don't think I've seen it phrased that concretely elsewhere, but concrete is good because it's a specific problem that can presumably be solved. Assuming I haven't simply missed it, would you care to post that problem description as a (likely discussion) question here on Codidact Meta s... (more) |

A: Deleted posts should be accessible to the creator *or* there should be a warning Monica wrote in a comment that this is being added to the list of things to do, so I suppose we should see a fix some time in the near future. A: Community Ad Templates now available > [status-completed] - This has been completed. Furthermore, exclusion of some categories (ex. Meta) and requiring a minimum score is now possible. Definitely not just "exclude everything except Q&A". Consider [Scientific Speculation's *Rigorous Science* category](https://scientific-speculation.codidact.com/categories/25), which we might definitely want to draw attention to. (more) |

Yes, let's please have a setting @ArtOfCode. I don't mind such a setting defaulting to on, because many are probably going to find an autosave valuable, but for those who would rather not have it, let's empower the user. (more) |

Question | — |
How to remove a given tag from all questions where it is used? When Scientific Speculation was populated with questions and answers from Worldbuilding SE, it also inherited the Worldbuilding SE set of tags. Specifically for the purposes of this question, it inherited the \[science-based\] tag; which seems kind of redundant on a site geared toward scientific s... (more) |

A: Can I use @Username to notify users from within my question or answer? Let's please not! I know different people have different views on this, but if the focus is on the question and on getting quality answers, then why would it matter who answers, to the extent that you actually need to notify a particular user about your question? If someone is interested in a p... (more) |

The flip side of this argument is that *usually*, irrevocable operations involve some confirmation step before committing. Uploading the file is, from the perspective of the user, irrevocable; while you can delete the reference to it (which makes it difficult to access), you can't delete the uploaded... (more) |
