That sounds useful. For a long time I included screenshots without a quote block. Once someone suggested quote blocks to me it seemed obvious, but I never thought of it myself, so having it in the help could make a difference. (more) |

A: Optional frames, borders or shadow around images I prefer no border for general images I would not want every image to be surrounded by a border. Images are added for many reasons, and in many cases a border would not be wanted. For example, a border around a photograph or a diagram could be distracting and would reduce the available width. I'... (more) |

Question | — |
"Could you answer this question?" for a well answered question In the right hand panel on Software Development Codidact I see the following: This links to a question which has had 4 well received answers for several months, so it made me wonder why this particular question has been chosen to have attention drawn to it. I could understand if ... (more) |

In the robots.txt file, a website can specify whether it wants search engines to crawl it for inclusion in search results. Even though Google provides both search and AI, these can be specified separately. A website can opt out of AI crawling while still opting in to search engine crawling. (more) |

For your first point, you may want to clarify whether you mean all crawlers or specifically AI data gathering crawlers. At present it isn't clear whether you mean to include search engine crawlers and archival crawlers, and people assuming you do or don't may be voting at odds with your intention. (more) |

Yes I agree - it's a problem whether it's personal to one person or not. Seeing that it's not personal may help emotionally, but the behaviour should be reported either way. (more) |

Note that this is not to suggest that reviewing another user's comments should be your responsibility, or that you shouldn't flag for moderator assistance - if you observe a problem you should feel free to flag without investigating first. Thi... (more) |

In the section "Images > Stable resource (local images) > Examples" the final paragraph begins "In the second bad example", but I can't see a second bad example image.
There is also no blank line between this final paragraph and the previous one, which is inconsistent with the rest of the paragrap... (more) |

I understand the desire to avoid making two switches if we can instead just wait and make one switch later. That's part of why I'm seeking feedback - if there's a solution out there that would work permanently rather than Codidact building its own, then we'd only need to switch once. If the existing ... Thank you - it's good to hear about alternatives. I only mentioned Zulip because I've noticed a few big open source projects using it, but feedback on others (in addition to any negative feedback on Zulip) is of interest too. (more) |

My personal leaning would be towards consistency with times shown on other parts of the site ("36 minutes ago" with the exact time plus timezone on hover).
I know that means mobile users can't see the exact time, but I'm thinking in terms of consistency for now. I imagine the wider problem of [rev... (more) |

I agree that having the raw text of previous versions available would be a good workaround until we have a revert button. I'd also find it useful for other purposes, so I'd like to see it implemented either way. (more) |

Good point about keeping options open for the other components in the box.
As for priority, yes I also think this is very low priority. Many of the things I raise are low priority - I raise them as a reminder to do them one day, not to take up time today.
I also have another incentive for raisi... (more) |

Question | — |
Should inline SVG or SVG uploads be supported in posts? Codidact posts support a safe subset of HTML. Currently the `` tag is not supported. SVG images can still be safely included using the `` tag[^1] (or a Markdown image link, which is converted to an `` tag behind the scenes), which suppresses their potentially dangerous aspects such as embedded script... Yes Canina's suggestion sounds like what I was initially suggesting (the second image in the question).
Generating the image just required drag and drop of one element in the Firefox developer window, but I guess it would be a little more involved in Ruby. The right hand panel is added implicitly,... (more) |

There isn't anything yet, but there is a more recent Meta post where I'm seeking details on how to make an API, so adding your requirements there will help guide me when I start work on it:

I like that. For a few reasons:
- The initial tab ("Profile") is already without a right panel.
- Several of the tabs that do have a right panel have wrapping content so more of it would be visible without scrolling if they were full width.
- Switching between tabs would look smoother if the layou... (more) |

User profile page tabs separated from their connecting blue line On the user profile page there is a horizontal blue line across the top of the page that groups the tabs, with the currently showing tab highlighted in that same blue. A: There should be a full moderation log visible to everyone Moderators are flawed These volunteers give their time freely and deal with more difficult situations behind the scenes than most users realise. I'm not sure if we already have a reopen flag - hopefully someone posting an answer can confirm. It might only be available to curators or some similar ability.
