A: Lack of a link to chat on Outdoors and Proposals Thanks for the report - it looks like that step was missed when setting up those communities for whatever reason. I've gone and updated the site settings for both Outdoors and Proposals and they should now both have a proper chat link. (more) |

A: What do "YOU" need to realize those improvements? I'm going to categorize "improvements" into two main categories: "Social" and "Technical". On Social changes I'm categorizing Social changes as what you've termed "Site Concept" in the question. I don't think they quite require changes to the entire concept of the site, but cover social norms a... (more) |

A: Is it really like this? I'm sorry you had a poor experience with the Incubator system. The Incubator is a bit of an experiment; as we continue to use it, we'll come across areas for improvement and ways to oil squeaky hinges. However, taking a look at the post in question, I would dispute the assertion that the downvotes... (more) |

A: Codidact's policy on "spam accounts"? We don't allow these on our communities. They're an abuse of the system, and they'll be removed once someone with the appropriate tool access notices them. I generally trawl all the new user pages for spam accounts every couple weeks and nuke whatever spam accounts I find. There are some moderatio... (more) |

A: Correct avenue to discuss a specific moderator The easiest way to do this would be to contact the Codidact Team directly. You can do this via several different ways, including emailing us at support@codidact.org, which will create a support ticket in our system. I can confirm that all support tickets are checked. I would recommend against an... (more) |

A: What can be done to block Codidact content from getting used by crawlers/for AI training? > At what extent can we block "crawlers" and the like from stealing site content? What is technically possible? We can block at least the OpenAI crawler and the Google-Extended crawler (for Gemini) through the `robots.txt` file. We've been discussing this in the admin room for the past few days, a... (more) |

It's not a standard help center article - even with global admin access, I can't modify that page. It needs to be changed in the seeds and then updated by a DB admin. (more) |

Also, the question talks about rep rewards - Codidact de-emphasizes reputation to a significant degree, and it's not really an important stat on the network. We've moved away from the model of having reputation as an extrinsic incentive. (more) |

A: Buggy text in Cooking site's help center I've fixed this - it looks like either that placeholder was never replaced or it was overwritten at some point and we didn't notice (we had an overwriting issue a few months or so ago that possibly could have caused this). As a side note, for anything only applicable to one Codidact community, suc... (more) |

In theory, a community can choose whatever licenses they want as long as it still allows us to distribute and use the content (such as for answers). There are defaults, but I don't see any reason that a community needs to be bound to a certain list. (more) |

> The page for licenses is per-site, but ideally, it should be a shared page for all the sites, as licensing is not just a responsibility of each site.
Different communities[^1] have different licenses available; for instance, communities with imported content have some posts under CC by-SA 3.0, a... (more) |

A: Could we adopt the domain “.cd”? This would require that we purchase a new domain for each community hosted on our network. As a non-profit project funded by donations, that's not a commitment we can make, nor the best use of the resources we do have. (more) |

Have you seen our [Codidact Code of Conduct](https://meta.codidact.com/policy/code-of-conduct)? Do you have any specific feedback on that document as written? At the moment, I'm finding it a bit unclear what this post is supposed to accomplish, so a little bit of explanation of what you'd like to com... (more) |

Question | — |
Add pending suggested edits to the dashboard The Dashboard is an easy way to get an overview of the whole network at a glance; on a single page, you can see where there's been new activity that you haven't seen yet, on a category-by-category basis, and global moderators and admins get an overview of all flags on the network. It'd be great if... (more) |

Question | — |
How do we want to organize the help center? Jon Ericson raised an interesting point in a recent Meta post: > I don't understand how the help page is organized. Oh wait! Help pages are post type "4" (HelpDoc) and policy pages such as the ToS are "PolicyDoc", post type 3. In theory, the search help indicates that you should be able to search for them using that the post type syntax, but it doesn't appear to actually work. (more) |
