A: Meaningful hovertext for voting area As sau226 mentioned, this is the score of the post. Since the way we calculate post score can be a little confusing, there's a help center article that explains exactly how it works. I agree that it'd make sense to add something like "Score: 0.5" or similar, to clarify what that number is. (more) |

I don't believe we currently have an API, but I'll hold off on answering until one of the devs confirms. We do plan on having one but I'm not aware of any active development on that project. (more) |

A: A note on April 1st 2021 Flappy Codidactyl score 15 Managed to get a score of 15, but I'm afraid the Codidactyl has gotten into the sugar... And immediately afterward, I managed a score of 56 :D (more) |

@ShashankVM - You're welcome to post a feature request to change where the user information shows up! That deserves its own discussion, though, not the comments section on an unrelated post. As for gray areas - yes, that's something I'm willing to accept. Communities and their moderators can figure o... (more) |

A: What are the pros and cons of gamifying Codidact.org? "gamification" is a bit of a different concept from "fun". Gamification refers to incentivizing participation; we do this currently via reputation (and Abilities to a certain extent). You get points (and unlock Abilities) the more you participate. We don't currently have any sort of badge system, ... (more) |

Based on the revision history here, I would also like to note that we do also have a [Code of Conduct](https://meta.codidact.com/policy/code-of-conduct) here on Codidact. Bashing trans people is just as much against the Code of Conduct here as it may be anywhere else; something to keep in mind for fu... (more) |

It's also worth noting that it's also sometimes possible to get a community-specific feature implemented, such as Judaism's Sefaria linker. (more) |

A: Heads up: small design changes, a better user card and some long-expected features [feature-request] Can we increase the size of the license a bit? It's... really small at the moment and for those of us without great eyes it's a bit difficult to make out at default size. (more) |

A: With abilities here, where did my Software Development question (posted Saturday 13:58 UTC) go? Some posts and other updates seem to have gotten overlooked during the update - specifically, the ones created after the process was started and before it ended. Since the update was running for... a while, it's going to take a bit to get to all the outliers (I think. I'm not part of the technical te... (more) |

A: 403 error when voting to close You're getting a 403 error because you don't have the ability to close questions. Currently, this power is granted based on reputation thresholds (I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head), and you don't have enough reputation to have earned the ability. That's why it's 403 forbidden - you... (more) |

A: How to financially support the Codidact project? We're currently not able to accept donations, since we don't yet have a nonprofit set up quite yet. However, as mentioned in the Newsletter, we're actively working on setting one up! A couple weeks ago, several Codidact members sat down on a Zoom call with a legal advisor sort of person who can he... (more) |

Trying to edit profile gives 500 error When I try to access /users/edit/profile to edit my profile, I seem to be triggering a 500 server error (ID: `d737d104-eea0-45a7-bd81-fda1070c6070`). Yes, it's subjective; that's intentional, because setting rules in stone doesn't work very well when humans are involved, especially online. There has to be room for situations that are context-dependent and other gray areas. Moderators then have to make judgement calls. (It's entirely possible that ... (more) |

A: Why was this answer to the volunteer-discussion removed? Update: The answer has been edited and undeleted. The last paragraph - the one calling for staff to step down if they cannot make Codidact their top priority - has been removed, since that constitutes a personal attack against the volunteer Codidact staff. It's also been edited to make it clearer ... (more) |
