Comment Post #290834 It's not a standard help center article - even with global admin access, I can't modify that page. It needs to be changed in the seeds and then updated by a DB admin.

Comment Post #290770 Also, the question talks about rep rewards - Codidact de-emphasizes reputation to a significant degree, and it's not really an important stat on the network. We've moved away from the model of having reputation as an extrinsic incentive.

Comment Post #290773 In theory, a community can choose whatever licenses they want as long as it still allows us to distribute and use the content (such as for answers). There are defaults, but I don't see any reason that a community needs to be bound to a certain list.

Comment Post #290773 > The page for licenses is per-site, but ideally, it should be a shared page for all the sites, as licensing is not just a responsibility of each site. Different communities[^1] have different licenses available; for instance, communities with imported content have some posts under CC by-SA 3.0, a...

Comment Post #290748 Have you seen our [Codidact Code of Conduct](https://meta.codidact.com/policy/code-of-conduct)? Do you have any specific feedback on that document as written? At the moment, I'm finding it a bit unclear what this post is supposed to accomplish, so a little bit of explanation of what you'd like to com...

Comment Post #290663 If you're suspcious, can you forward the email to info@codidact.org, please? I'd like for us to have a copy to be able to look into if someone's misusing our platform / name... I haven't heard of anyone else receiving such an email but I'll keep my eyes open.

Comment Post #290438 Help pages are post type "4" (HelpDoc) and policy pages such as the ToS are "PolicyDoc", post type 3. In theory, the search help indicates that you should be able to search for them using that the post type syntax, but it doesn't appear to actually work.

Comment Post #290429 Hi sheela, thanks for the suggestion! I'm wondering what specifically you're referring to with "score" - do you mean the Wilson score (a number between 0 and 1 that appears when you hover over the bar or the vote counts), or are you referring to a combined view of the up- and downvotes? I'm also a...

Comment Post #290293 A decorative image is an image that contains no information that is not already present in the text. Examples include images included for aesthetic purposes, or cases like a picture of a quote (such as from a manuscript) where the text is already present in the answer. The Web Accessibility Initiativ...

Comment Post #290079 Just noting here that codidact.com itself runs off of different software than the rest of the network - the source code for that page can be found at https://github.com/codidact/community-list. That has some upsides and downsides. If the network goes down temporarily due to a memory issue or similar...

Comment Post #289020 Due to the (actual and perceived) conflict of interest with being involved here on Codidact and SE, I've been somewhat avoiding promoting CD directly in SE spaces, due to being a strike negotiator. I don't want anybody to be able to accuse me of sabotaging SE by organizing a strike in order to help C...

Comment Post #289020 I think you've addressed most of the important points here, thank you. As to why I'm specifically still active on SE (although on strike right now) - during my time there as a moderator and user, I've made a lot of friends on the network, who I don't really have ways of connecting with otherwise. ...

Comment Post #288951 It might even make sense to have this be adjustable on a community-level basis, not just network-level. For instance, the TTRPG community could have a Roll20 account field, while Software Dev has GitHub.

Comment Post #288896 Yeah, I think we should take Moderator out of that list, for exactly that reason. I'm ambivalent on removing the "Abilities" heading for mods; we might add other features that can be suspended on a case-by-case basis, such as suggesting edits, which would be separate from the blocks of features that...

Comment Post #288402 > Once a privilege is unlocked, can it be removed again from the frontend? In particular, can adjustments to the qualifications, or "win conditions" cause existing privileges to be added or removed? Technically, yes. Moderators have the ability to suspend individual abilities. If you've earned an...

Comment Post #288194 We're not here to be an intermediary between people and AI, @#53023. If someone wanted to ask an AI they can do that directly. At a bare minimum, I'd expect someone to verify an answer that was generated from somewhere and include that verification in the answer.

Comment Post #288194 That would have to be determined on a community-level basis, @#53489. I don't believe that we currently have a community where that would be on-topic, although the Power Users and Software Dev folks can correct me if I'm wrong.

Comment Post #286052 I'm afraid that asking about Stack Exchange is off-topic here on Codidact; we're a separate entity. If you have specific concerns or requests that are pertinent to Codidact, you're welcome to post those here (e.g. a feature-request for guest posting).

Comment Post #284331 Which post was the one that contained images where alt text wasn't necessary, out of curiosity? The צור קשר one? It's also worth noting that that error message does allow you to post it even without alt text, you just have to press the submit button again. It's a suggestion, not a total blocker.

Comment Post #282680 @#8049 It hasn't yet been fixed (just tried it myself; still getting a 404). I believe the problem is the same - the abilities pages 404 for non-logged-in users is 404ing (probably because it makes a check to see if you've earned it / what your progress is). Comment Post #282479 You need to create a new account; the dev system has a separate account system from the main network. As mentioned in Monica's comment, you need to manually edit the sign up link you'll get to point to `a.dev.codidact.org` instead `meta.codidact.com`.
