@ShashankVM the word "kosher" just means "fit". I've heard many Jews use it in non-religious contexts and do so myself. As for votes, people downvoted because they disagreed with you, which can happen regardless of the topic. There were downvotes on Meta before this announcement and there will be ... (more) |

The "easter eggs" I've seen (I think my first was some hidden content on a DVD, not even software) have been extras that you have to seek out and that don't affect anything else. The DVD one led to some deleted scenes, I think, but didn't affect my normal viewing of the movie. Similarly, the hidden g... (more) |

@ShashankVM was the only use of "easter egg" in an answer to one of these questions? I admit I hadn't given the term, which I've heard for years, any deeper thought. Now that you've brought up the religious angle I'll try to be more careful about it. I don't play video games and can't comment on the... (more) |

Nobody on the Codidact team wants to have fun at others' expense. If there are aspects of the game, or its presence for people who haven't chosen to activate it, that cause problems for those with disabilities or anyone else, we want to know so we can address it. As someone with a disability myself,... (more) |

@ShashankVM re "getting the Q&A back on track", you probably didn't see it if you're not active on the Judaism community, but the "fun" questions were segregated (different category) and only live for a limited period of time. The category description also made it very clear what was going on. Pur... (more) |

@ShashankVM I'm having trouble understanding how my invitation for people to help with development if they want to led you to think I'm expressing a requirement. That's not my intention at all, and I'd happily rephrase if it's unclear but I'm a little confused about how to do so. Nobody is required... (more) |

The opt-in nature is an important aspect. One year SE restyled all their sites to look like those awful Myspace sites from the 90s. (Maybe not SO because they care about that one; don't remember.) It rendered SE completely unusable for people with certain visual disabilities and very annoying for man... (more) |

@OlinLathrop the tradeoff is between the people doing curation here (who can turn it on) versus those coming from outside who don't know enough to curate yet and are just going to be confused by the SE icons all over the place. I encourage people who are active on the affected communities to turn it... (more) |

Ok, it's the angle brackets in the `script` tag in your comment; when I removed those, the comment posted. I'm not sure if we accept HTML in comments or if we should be escaping all angle brackets, or something else I haven't thought of. (If we accept any HTML, I imagine the escaping approach would... Test: Thanks; must I use the `const url = "http://example.com";
fetch(url` code? I already use the code in the same webpage I send data from (i.e. the code comes between a `script` tag in the very same webpage that the data is sent from). In other words, I should paste the **XHR/Fetch** code in the ... (more) |

Can you add the comment to your post? It sounds like there's something special about *that* comment, since comments in general work, so we'll need to see what you're trying to post in order to be able to debug it. Thanks. (more) |

It still happens in Safari 12.1.1. Whether that's a browser we support, I don't know -- just commenting to indicate that you're not seeing it working because we fixed a bug. (more) |

@seth.wagenman I would expect that most questions on a biology community wouldn't involve sexual issues at all. For those that do, I would expect participants to take the same dispassionate, clinical, science-based approach that professionals in the field do. Not being a professional in the field I d... DIdn't work for me either. I wonder if we missed something in the work to generalize posts and the nomination code is looking for a *question* specifically. (That's an article.) Would questions of the form "what have been the consequences of legislation X in jurisdictions that have enacted it" be in scope? (Obviously with qualifications to keep it from being too broad.) @Moshi I don't see a way to do it through the admin UI. (Moderators can change *close* reasons, which covers most of what's needed for questions, but I don't see a way to change *flag* reasons, which could apply to other post types.) That seems worth a feature request for the future (more) |

The comment is from a moderator on Software Dev, so I'd go with that. You can raise questions about scope on Software Dev's meta category. @Wikis sometimes proposals move slowly. What this says to me is that there isn't high interest among the "native" population here, and we'll need to promote the proposal in other places where SF folks hang out. Thanks for nailing down what I had in my head but couldn't quite formulate: "how interesting are the questions from one area for a person mainly interested in another area?".
