Comment Post #279067 Also, one of the communities here that initially imported (almost) everything from Somewhere Else is now discussing deleting those imports, because they did not serve us well. *Selective* importing is valuable, but bulk importing turned out not to be.

Comment Post #279063 Welcome to Codidact. This suggestion would work better as a possible refinement of [this one](https://meta.codidact.com/questions/279001). As for tags, we use "idea" when the proposal is more early-stage and "proposal" when it's farther along. I admit that's kind of fuzzy. The other purpose of the...

Comment Post #279062 See also: [proposal for economics](https://meta.codidact.com/questions/277995). Yes I know that accounting and economics are not the same thing, but some who are interested in accounting might also be interested in economics.

Comment Post #279039 Oh, I see -- the history bit is pulling last activity for the *page*, the same value that's shown in the question list, instead of for the post.

Comment Post #41993 @Lundin status-pending means we're planning to launch it. We think the CG proposal has enough interested, enthusiastic users to launch. status-needs-people means we don't think there are enough people yet to support a proposed site; it's a call to action to say you're interested (if you are) and sh...

Comment Post #278500 Thanks @1muflon1‭! I'll ask the dev team to look at it. Since I (accidentally) neglected this for a few weeks and we've deployed other changes, I just wanted to check back first before doing that.

Comment Post #278968 Argh. Why does it happen to laserkittens and not to me? (Also why should the renderer care *how* the markdown got generated, but that's a different question.)

Comment Post #278500 Did one of your edits fix this, or did some other change fix the bug? The linked post looks like it has the correct numbering now, but I can't tell if that's because you found a workaround or because it's working now.

Comment Post #278969 Wow, this is getting weirder. I copied the source of your answer into mine, and it works -- exact same Markdown! Could you try copying my first one into yours?

Comment Post #278969 Any idea what the difference is between your reproducer and my non-reproducer? (I used the same link target as in the answer that's linked from the question, the one that displayed the error until I edited).

Comment Post #278967 And, as shown in my test-case answer, that didn't happen here in this category. Stranger and stranger!

Comment Post #278967 Weird! Sorry to mess up your test case with an experiment, but I edited the post to move the period out of the link (the original text had "in this proposal." as the link text) and that fixed it. I don't know *why* that should matter.

Comment Post #278957 Sounds like a question about the math for crypto would be on-topic either on this community or on Math, and the asker would choose based on focus or personal preference. That's fine; scopes overlap sometimes.

Comment Post #278945 Ah, as opposed to "save changes" for posts. I see why the text for comment edits could be confusing, yes.

Comment Post #278935 In an ideal world we'd make the URL about the tag set and not the category. It's not intuitively obvious that two different URLs (for example, Languages Q&A and Languages Resources) point to the same tag set. Tags started out as just tags, and then tag sets came along, and then categories came alon...

Comment Post #278840 Following the model we've discussed for Software Dev, gaming questions could start as part of an "applications" community, perhaps in their own category from the beginning, and spin off when volume of both content and users with diverging interests dictates.

Comment Post #276997 @Zerotime you've indicated you're enthusiastic. As noted in the discussions here, this community will require more careful moderation than some. If this community were to launch, would you be interested in being a moderator?

Comment Post #278715 Thanks @user53196. We send the email versions of these from a generic account, but they're infrequent enough that I don't think we need a generic account here. Comment Post #278665 We haven't designed a badge system yet -- doesn't mean we can't, but we haven't prioritized it. We're happy to hear proposals for what a badge system might reward. (We'll also need to consider the effects of badge-hunting -- do any badges motivate undesirable behaviors?) We don't want to just copy...

Comment Post #278656 I was just discussing the sandbox case with someone. We talked about ask-refine-move, but moving the post would bring all its comments too, which would have to be deleted (but still get in the way for people who can see deleted comments), and there was a feeling that sometimes having the conversation...

Comment Post #278608 @Moshi from the discussion in 19th Byte it sounded like the community could have questions *about* golfing and related topics that aren't themselves challenges. They can tell us what they need; I'm in no position to judge.

Comment Post #278608 @Moshi or maybe it's all challenges and I misunderstood? The idea was one category for challenges, which have different rules from Q&A *about* golfing etc, and which are the only ones that use a leaderboard. Edited to just say "challenges".

Comment Post #74822 Thanks for bringing that up, @Razetime. I'm going to remove the status-declined tag, but we'll need to flesh out this proposal, gather a community, and *talk with the TopAnswers* folks. If TA is a good solution for golfing but folks just don't know about it, that's one class of problem. If there's so...
