Comment Post #280657 The intent is (a) -- show everything, but with the category being *correct*. A search option to restrict by category (show me *only* this category vs search all categories) is on the to-do list.

Comment Post #280610 I wonder if DIY consumer electronics fits into a broader category (DIY? something else?) and whether that would be viable as a community.

Comment Post #280634 The comment is from a moderator on Software Dev, so I'd go with that. You can raise questions about scope on Software Dev's meta category. When I wrote my answer here I wasn't thinking about *business* questions, as the proposal seemed to be about technical aspects. Sorry about that; I've clarifie...

Comment Post #280159 @DNB the first is a one-liner (no description at all) and the second is significantly downvoted, so I didn't bother, but it doesn't have to be me. If you want to help build up those proposals, feel free to create these answers. If you can help by adding some description/scope where needed, that'd b...

Comment Post #280162 @Wikis sometimes proposals move slowly. What this says to me is that there isn't high interest among the "native" population here, and we'll need to promote the proposal in other places where SF folks hang out. If you're involved in such communities and can do it without violating the norms of thos...

Comment Post #280577 Thanks for nailing down what I had in my head but couldn't quite formulate: "how interesting are the questions from one area for a person mainly interested in another area?". That's the difference between a community with some commonalities and disjoint groups sharing a space. (Also, to be clear, I...

Question How should we approach our (non-developer) software community proposals?
We have some software (but not software-development) proposals: - "Superuser-like" community for software applications - office suites - Linux Are these three separate, distinct communities, or should any of them be combined? Office suites strike me as a subset of the kinds of software a...

Comment Post #280517 @1muffon1 I didn't realize that a tag-only edit *didn't* generate a notification. Sorry! Yes, we found and fixed this bug recently. (That's the exclusive "we"; *I* didn't do anything except convey the news. The actual credit goes to others.)
