The design considerations are different, as Art said. Still, we are open to discussing specific aspects. Some of our design principles are different and that affects layout; categories, for example, are fundamental, and SE doesn't do that at all. Some things can be adjusted; I've thought about moving... The Codidact team can't take on the task of finding people to support every community that someone would like to see here. We need supporters of community proposals to do that legwork. By the way, I don't have any status on Reddit either. If there are people there who would potentially come here, ... (more) |

You can either edit this post (if you have the edit ability on Meta) or comment and someone else will edit it into the post. Please indicate if you expect to be a casual or more active participant. @PeterTaylor moving the text into the category header (something I briefly thought about too) would not work well on small viewports, like phones. I've just filed a GitHub issue to make it collapsible instead. (more) |

A: closure-as-duplicate post notice is inaccurate We have an issue open to fix this in the code, but I recently realized that moderators can also fix it locally: the close reasons are editable. I've edited it here on Meta to say "This question has been addressed elsewhere". Moderators, please consider backward compatibility when editing close re... (more) |

A: What about having a category in Meta for documentation about the platform? This is an interesting idea. We have help, but only moderators can edit it. We want documentation about the platform (as opposed to how our network or particular communities operate) to end up in the help that is part of the platform repository and seeded to all new communities -- but not everythin... What we need is for some folks here -- needn't and probably shouldn't be Codidact admins, but rather people who would participate on these communities -- to do some of this outreach. If there's a group of people who want to support a community here, we want to set it up. But we're a small team and ... (more) |

Thanks for the feedback. We should consider making some of those sections collapsible. The reason users aren't with tags and posts is that tags and posts are at the category level, while users are global for a community. If you click on "tags" in the meta category, for example, you'll only see the... (more) |

Are you testing in an incognito browser? I just searched Google in such for "problem collaborative work different voices"; the first hit was a scraper, the second SE, and the third Codidact. (Interestingly, the scraper scraped the question but not the answers, so it's actually *less* useful than th... (more) |

Right, if you want to tell people about your blog or Twitter account or whatever else, *but* you don't want it to be publicly linked, then you could put it in the not-completely-public block. You'd just have to do it manually -- type "Twitter: " or whatever, instead of filling in a form. (more) |

We want to be able to support internationalization. Right now our effort there is "don't do things that will impede internationalization"; we don't have enough people to be able to do better now and still get everything else done that we've identified as priorities, but this is on our roadmap. A: How can we make Codidact more friendly for askers? A lot of Codidact's distinctives, as Manasseh notes in comments on another answer, are about how the Codidact team and the community interact -- that communities here have much more control, that the team is accountable to the communities not to shareholders, much better responsiveness to requests an... Would being able to limit the profile description to people who are signed in, versus anybody, meet your need? This would give you a place to put whatever you want that you don't want in Google results etc, while not making the user interface complex. (more) |

A: We should delete all old imported content. Writing already has consensus to delete unclaimed, untouched, imported posts. We should see how that changes things, and then the other two communities with large-scale imports can decide how they want to proceed. Writing, at least, is unlikely to be interested in throwing out work that people he... (more) |

New communities: Music, Physics We have launched two new communities, Music and Physics. As new communities with no data imports, they are blank or nearly-blank canvases now. We'd like to have some content before we advertise them off-network (in the communities list), but y'all won't necessarily notice them if we don't announce ... (more) |

@ploni it involved opening links in new tabs and marking some things unread and back to read. I'm not sure of the exact sequence I followed, but it took a few tries to stumble on the -1. :-) (more) |

A: When clicking "mark read" it shows a 0 when it should actually dissapear. With a bit of effort, you can even do this: -1 I think the code that shows the notification count draws the notification "container" (the blue circle) once, and then just updates the number from some data value. Only when you close and reopen the notifications, or refresh, or move to another... (more) |

How strange! What happens if you go to the [edit URL](https://outdoors.codidact.com/posts/279707/edit) directly? (Trying to figure out if you can edit but there's a UI weirdness or if you can't edit at all.) Does it happen on any other posts or just that one? (more) |

A: Can we have customised text in the "Posting Tips" banner for each post type? I think this is a bug. There is default guidance for answers that is different from that for questions, and a category can override either or both. This category does not override the answer guidance, so it should be getting the default. Instead, it's getting the question guidance. To answer yo... (more) |

Voting feedback is important, independent of rep. If something I posted is getting downvotes but not comments, I want to know to take another look. If a quick-and-dirty answer I posted a while back is suddenly getting a new flurry of upvotes, I want to know so I can consider improving it. (more) |

A: Can we get an option to remove a post from the nominated posts list? Moderators can now see a list of promoted posts and can remove a question from the list there. I acknowledge the imbalance: anyone with the Curate ability can nominate, but only moderators can remove. I hope we will be able to improve this tooling in the future, but now at least moderators can re... (more) |
