Answer A: Replenish votes statistic with "Other" block to make it complete
The redesigned profile that came with the abilities branch now also shows a proper breakdown. Example: votes by direction and post type

Comment Post #279560 My user history shows edits that are now missing (example: on [this post](https://meta.codidact.com/questions/279180)), so user histories might provide another way to find things, maybe? Unfortunately the user history doesn't show the edit diff, so I can't just reapply it -- we'll need to get that a...

Comment Post #279560 I posted a comment on https://meta.codidact.com/questions/279595 last night that is missing. (It was about trying to reproduce the problem, so would be good to get back.)

Comment Post #279560 @Canina thanks. Yes, I remember editing both of those. There might have also been some more interested users on Physics? Can't remember if any are missing now (their comments would be too).

Comment Post #279560 I made updates to a few site proposals in the last week. I don't remember which ones, but newest activity is currently showing as 9 days ago and that's definitely wrong.

Comment Post #279504 @FoggyFinder I asked, and apparently the request isn't even reaching our servers; the caching is happening locally, so there's nothing we can do to force expiration on our end. :-(

Comment Post #279180 @seth.wagenman‭ proposals sometimes go for a while before solidifying; it's fine to leave this here. I didn't see your comments until now; sorry for the delay. I'm going to edit your examples into the post where they'll be more visible.

Comment Post #279504 @Zerotime Cooking is working for me. If it's not for you, try flushing browser cache, in case it cached the redirect to our "down" page?

Question Abilities update is here!
U P D A T E: It looks like some changes have gone missing after the rollout; we're working on adding them back right now. See this answer for more information. We have deployed the new abilities system! Please let us know if you find any problems - while we've tested the system as much as we ...

Comment Post #279411 @mbomb007‭ the list on codidact.com is maintained in files checked in to git; the dashboard reads out of the database. The community descriptions shown on codidact.com aren't in the database. I don't know if there's a technical reason for codidact.com to not depend on the DB. (Descriptions could b...

Comment Post #279470 @fedorqui‭ there might actually be some low-level conditions; not sure. The tooltip reports the same number for all buttons, though, so maybe not. I would have to ask the developer or try to find it in the code. Maybe in the future we could improve it, yes. We're also working on a design for *use...

Comment Post #279468 @OlinLathrop I'm puzzled too. Have you tried in incognito mode (assuming Edge has something like that)? On other browsers, I understand, incognito mode disables all extensions, so if there's some extension interfering that you wouldn't have thought would be related, that would be a way to catch it....

Answer A: What is the 'lottery' button for?
"Lottery" is a random set of 50 questions. It's a way to be reminded of older posts that have dropped off the front page. I agree with the suggestion that "Random" would be a better label; we didn't think of it at the time for some reason. I also agree that the tooltips could be more informative...

Answer A: Community dropdown and profile information
Thanks for bringing this up. I agree; we need to add the concept of a network profile and have a GitHub issue for it. But we haven't gotten to it yet. Update 2024-10-02: We have just deployed a minimal "network profile": on the user profile page there's a new tab, "All Communities", which links to...

Comment Post #279384 @Alexei we're working on getting a bank account set up so we can accept donations, thanks. (Needed a corporate identification number first in order to be able to open an account. Comment Post #278340 Thank you Knight and @NaveenMishra for giving this proposal a boost, and welcome to Codidact! While we're waiting for a physics community I hope you'll take a look at our [other communities](https://codidact.com/) which you might also be interested in.

Comment Post #279390 When I hear literature I think of written material specifically (books etc), while I think the proposal here means to include movies, TV, etc.

Comment Post #279372 @Lundin would you be able to flesh that out into a scope proposal in an answer, so people can vote, comment (more easily), and edit? Thanks. (I wasn't active over there so I don't know what those pitfalls were.)

Comment Post #279371 This is one of the things we intended auto-save to mitigate, so if that's not working we'll want to look into that.

Comment Post #279372 I feel like there could be a useful partnership with [Scientific Speculation](https://scientific-speculation.codidact.com/), too -- this community for what exists, that one for what *could* exist (with a science ground).

Comment Post #278908 Would questions about configuring email, domains, and the like be on-topic? Just tonight I had an [issue with email forwarding and Gmail rejections](https://cellio.dreamwidth.org/2089825.html), which I posted about on my blog for lack of a better place to ask. Would this sort of thing be included?

Comment Post #279180 Could you add a few examples of questions (titles I mean) that you see people asking on this community? I think it'd help people not deeply involved in this area get a better understanding of the topic. Codidact is oriented more around *knowledge* (Q&A, blogs, resource collections, etc) than around...

Answer A: "last activity" on the post history of questions is misleading.
The last activity shown there was for the whole page, same as what you see in the question list. That's confusing in the history case, as you point out. We talked about updating it to show the correct information, but since the entire history is already shown, you can easily see what the last activ...
