Comment Post #280484 We're doing this as part of a larger reworking of comments, currently in progress.

Comment Post #280464 The design considerations are different, as Art said. Still, we are open to discussing specific aspects. Some of our design principles are different and that affects layout; categories, for example, are fundamental, and SE doesn't do that at all. Some things can be adjusted; I've thought about moving...

Comment Post #280406 The Codidact team can't take on the task of finding people to support every community that someone would like to see here. We need supporters of community proposals to do that legwork. By the way, I don't have any status on Reddit either. If there are people there who would potentially come here, ...

Comment Post #280405 @PeterTaylor moving the text into the category header (something I briefly thought about too) would not work well on small viewports, like phones. I've just filed a GitHub issue to make it collapsible instead.

Comment Post #280406 What we need is for some folks here -- needn't and probably shouldn't be Codidact admins, but rather people who would participate on these communities -- to do some of this outreach. If there's a group of people who want to support a community here, we want to set it up. But we're a small team and ...

Comment Post #280405 Thanks for the feedback. We should consider making some of those sections collapsible. The reason users aren't with tags and posts is that tags and posts are at the category level, while users are global for a community. If you click on "tags" in the meta category, for example, you'll only see the...

Comment Post #280358 Are you testing in an incognito browser? I just searched Google in such for "problem collaborative work different voices"; the first hit was a scraper, the second SE, and the third Codidact. (Interestingly, the scraper scraped the question but not the answers, so it's actually *less* useful than th...

Comment Post #280382 Right, if you want to tell people about your blog or Twitter account or whatever else, *but* you don't want it to be publicly linked, then you could put it in the not-completely-public block. You'd just have to do it manually -- type "Twitter: " or whatever, instead of filling in a form.

Comment Post #280391 We want to be able to support internationalization. Right now our effort there is "don't do things that will impede internationalization"; we don't have enough people to be able to do better now and still get everything else done that we've identified as priorities, but this is on our roadmap.

Comment Post #280382 Would being able to limit the profile description to people who are signed in, versus anybody, meet your need? This would give you a place to put whatever you want that you don't want in Google results etc, while not making the user interface complex.

Comment Post #280375 @OlinLathrop what did you do for EE, which was also founded by experts who (I think) were more prepared to answer than ask? What can we learn from EE?

Comment Post #280368 @ploni it involved opening links in new tabs and marking some things unread and back to read. I'm not sure of the exact sequence I followed, but it took a few tries to stumble on the -1. :-)

Comment Post #280356 How strange! What happens if you go to the [edit URL](https://outdoors.codidact.com/posts/279707/edit) directly? (Trying to figure out if you can edit but there's a UI weirdness or if you can't edit at all.) Does it happen on any other posts or just that one?

Comment Post #280346 Voting feedback is important, independent of rep. If something I posted is getting downvotes but not comments, I want to know to take another look. If a quick-and-dirty answer I posted a while back is suddenly getting a new flurry of upvotes, I want to know so I can consider improving it.

Comment Post #280326 Interesting. At first I wondered if we had some sort of "you can't review your own suggestions so we won't show them" logic, but I can't see it in the list either. Investigating.

Comment Post #280318 If it's mod-specific, it could be added to the page for managing featured posts. (I mean a separate section on that page, not mingling.) If it's generally available, and it seems reasonable for people to be able to see it, then I'm not sure where to put it. But I agree it'd be good to have.

Comment Post #280302 Agreed. I'd like to have a way for people to register interest and then a way to notify them all in a batch. Pinging people one at a time in comments doesn't scale.

Comment Post #279094 Could you check if this is still happening for you? Those shortcuts work for me in Chrome now, but I don't know what you were using and I haven't gotten to a Windows machine yet to test in Edge. Also, we've made the setting global and moved it into a new "preferences" section on the profile page.

Comment Post #280228 Does the "edit" link not work on the other post? If so, please let us know how it failed. Meanwhile, could you add some text *here* about what this community would cover? Comment Post #280017 This *should* be fixed now. Values are still cached, so there are some people who'll still show 0s incorrectly, *but* when there's an event that would change any of the values that cache gets flushed. So the next time someone whose card is showing 0s posts, for example, it should get fixed.

Comment Post #280220 No you shouldn't have deleted it, so no worries there. We have a design for duplicates where, in fact, you would be able to directly mark it as such; we just haven't gotten there yet. In the meantime, flagging is the best way to handle it, which you discovered, so thanks.

Comment Post #280212 I think we always want edits to bump posts; otherwise a "minor" designation could be abused, unless we also add in other logic to determine that it's not really minor, which gets complicated. Comment Post #280174 I wonder if it would be better at the top, flush right, next to the "notifications" header.
