This isn't just about duplicates. It looks like URLs in flag text are never links; the flag text is just text. (more) |

Was it a suggested edit? That's a [known bug](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/280086). I just tried notifications of various sorts in my inbox and I couldn't trigger it with anything else. If it wasn't an edit, could you say what it was so we can investigate? Thanks. (more) |

Yes, we need to add a "suggest edit" link there. Sorry for the delay. (more) |

"Follow" has been on the wishlist for a while, and I like the idea of the option (on by default) when editing. (more) |

@OlinLathrop that's a good idea. We'd then want people to be able to opt out, so fixing a typo doesn't sign you up for notifications for years to come. We'll need to do some work on notifications and preferences before we can do that, or add "follow". Meanwhile, one person gets notified, which is ... (more) |

@ArtOfCode are you saying that it'll work right going forward, but the existing data errors will remain? If you check the links you'll see that those posts aren't being reported correctly; does that mean that edits that predate the fix will remain broken (but it won't happen again), or that there's ... The bug has been fixed and new answers show up as new activity and bump posts again. Posts that got new answers during the bug's lifetime (a couple days I think) haven't been updated/bumped. In other words, it shouldn't happen again but there are residual mismatches. For example, the Code Golf Cha... (more) |

Not the same. The root cause of that one appears to be a problem with how suggested edits are reported (or not, as it turns out, confusing the tracking). The present bug, which has now been fixed, was about new answers, specifically. (more) |

I found the [unreported edit](https://scientific-speculation.codidact.com/posts/213131/history) on Scientific Speculation. This seems to be the bug with suggested edits not being reported on the post. A *different* bug was marked as a dupe of this one; that other one was fixed but this wasn't. (more) |

@Zerotime the answers from Mithical and James Jenkins on the [proposal](https://meta.codidact.com/posts/276933), and especially the voting on them, make me think there are unresolved issues. But it's also been a while now, so maybe voters have changed their positions (but not updated votes) or aren'... (more) |

Ditto. I wonder if this has to do with the bug that luap42 characterized somewhere else as category view permissions being too aggressive. (more) |

I agree that putting the rep number back in the header until we have those other feedback mechanisms would be a good idea. That number changing is currently the only indicator people have that people are voting on their posts. And particularly if there are downvotes, you want to know so you can try... (more) |

@luap42 maybe put *both* the timestamp and the license over on the left, so the usercard area is *just* stuff about the user and the other area is *just* stuff about the post. (more) |

@ArtOfCode it's clickable now, but it's the wrong URL. I just clicked, on Meta, on an L&L ad, and it took me to that post ID on Meta, which doesn't exist and thus gave a 404. (more) |

Hmm. You should not see the Tools menu if you don't have any of the relevant abilities (i.e. if you can't do anything on that menu). I saw a change go in in this part of the code today (not live yet), so possibly this has already been noticed and fixed -- will check. (more) |

Could somebody add a draft scope (doesn't need to be long but should indicate what's in/out broadly) as an answer, so people can comment, vote, and refine? Please address *Linux* vs *Unix* (is it both? just the former?). (more) |

@Jordan I'll give this more thought to flesh it out more, but I think the problem with SE's profit model is that it led them to pursue business that *bypasses* the communities -- they make money by selling private Teams/Enterprise instances or through their jobs business. Aside from SO, which they ne... (more) |

Thank you! That helps. If I understand correctly: economics is more theory/academic and "systems", finance is business-level theory & practice, and accounting is the particular tools & methods used to implement the former. Is that about right? (more) |

Thanks for the report. We're looking into it. We've seen cases of the attribution notices not going away before but never figured out if there were a more widespread problem. Apparently there is, so we'll need to look at what's going on in the database. (more) |

Good point @Canina. I'll amend the suggestion on GH. As for articles, good question -- while the "no more answers" aspect of closing doesn't apply, can there be duplicate articles and should they be linked together through the system if so? (more) |

In [this GitHub issue](https://github.com/codidact/qpixel/issues/193) I proposed "This question has been addressed at (link)". I think that covers all the cases -- answered before, asked before without answers, superseded (dupe of a newer question, where "before" is wrong). (more) |

@Olin after my direct edit, the notice was updated correctly. (Should've logged that, sorry.) Then when I approved the suggested edit, it disappeared. It looks like it only manifests with suggested edits. I hope that, now that we know where to look, this won't be hard to fix. (more) |

Ok, it's not just third-party edits; mine showed up fine. New hypothesis: *suggested* edits produce this behavior. We need an edit suggestion from someone who can't edit directly. I have a sock; hang on. (more) |

I saw another example on Judaism, and then checked [this recent edit of mine](https://meta.codidact.com/a/276824/276995) where it shows up. Two differences: the missing ones are on questions, and the missing ones (so far) are third-party edits (not by the authors). Can we find cases to isolate thos... (more) |

Here's another (recent) example of this happening: https://meta.codidact.com/questions/279760. Question list shows an edit by Moshi, question doesn't, but the history does. It also shows that the OP edited once, and that edit doesn't show either (though I don't know if it did before Moshi's edit). (more) |
